I do not like Bill Maher at all, but once in a blue moon he has a point.

I will never know what possessed Ron to try a kamikaze mission.

I don’t enjoy saying it because personally I had envisioned a much different scenario playing out that utilized both he and Trump for a nice period of time, but…….
Until I find reason to believe otherwise, it looks to me like just plain old poor judgment. Extremely poor judgement.

Maybe you should link the rest of it

I hope Desantis hasn't screwed up his campaign for 2028. Like Maher said, he's trying to thread a needle where he supports Trump's policies, but not Trump.
He needs to get out and throw all of his weight behind Trump. If he plays the sore loser, he will hurt his chances for 2028.
The only reason I hope he is still in the race is because of the outside chance that Trump drops out, not because he can beat Trump.

Maher is a sharp dude, like him or not. He also lets both sides have it if called for.

Last year I had such high hopes for that kid.
Why try to take the torch instead of offering to be the torch bearer if they took Trump out? (That WAS a given, he could have stepped right into it)
Why agree to sign a hate speech law.. the ultimate libprog/authoritarian tool against free speech.
Why agree to a dog and pony show debate with a commie governor who DEFINITELY isn't running?
If he's not careful he's going to end up being a skinny Chris Christy.
Trump frustrates tf out of me sometimes but a suitable torch bearer hasn't surfaced yet.

He lets both sides have it ... and on election day he votes straight ticket blue. Sharp as a softball.

Sharp as a softball? That makes as much sense as a football bat.

Kamikaze Ron everyone!
Kinda wished his voice wasn’t drowned out by the cheering after he got zinged though so we would’ve heard his response.

He definitely misjudged the wild claim Trump has on the hearts/minds of his most fervent followers.

Yeah honestly Maher is better at political interviews than almost anyone else on tv. I thought it was a good conversation. Ron did quite well, hopeless though his campaign may be.

I don’t think “Trump’s most fervent followers” number quite enough to net the somewhat dominating lead that he has achieved. There are plenty others who perhaps aren’t “fervent followers” as you say, but nonetheless believe he’s the one.

I didn't suggest they do. But his most fervent followers have marched forward, taking DT's words as Gospel, and absolutely crowded out political discourse in the Republican primary. It's not like rank/file Republicans are well known for scrutinizing narratives, right? And don't take what I've posted here like I'm being critical - it's been a legit masterful work of politics on the part of Trump, and I think he's going to win the general comfortably. My concern is what we get out of DT in a second term.

Didn't you mean to capitalize that "O"?

Always an excuse or blaming Trump. Cant be Ron hired a disaster team and ran the worst campaign ever
Especially with all that money
