That is so lame. If Congress doesn’t do what you want, you declare a national emergency? That could never come back and bite you in the arse.

False

It is an emergency and Dems have said so in the past

But now that big bad orange man wants to solve and end this emergency, dems don't want to play ball....you know, bc election is coming.

SO he shouldn't have to do this, but he's a great leader and will not fail the country by playing political games with the dems.

quote:

agenda passed

This is an odd statement.

This has been on the forefront of the democrat platform for over a decade

But all of a sudden it's a manufactured crisis.

Wonder what changed?

Well, you can look at the voting records to see which are partisan. You won’t like the results. Hat being said...is love to hear your legal arguments on the merits of the case...since you seem to think you have the law figured out. Fire away, counselor

Get ready for the next Democrat president to use that exact same reasoning. What a joke.

So you’re ignorant to the fact this is the 59th time a President has done this? I’m guessing you are a dem. Ignorance and dem go hand in hand.

And all conservatives were against the pen and the phone. This is worse. It’s a clear usurpation of power for short term political gain. It’s embarrassing that so-called conservatives could be in favor of such s thing.

ITS AN EMERGENCY congress could have addressed. They chose not to. So the president is. Why so disingenuous?

I’m a conservative and yes national emergencies have been declared. Nothing like this.

Really? What makes this one different? You said it was a clear usurpation of power. I’d love to hear the legal argument for this.

Congress addressed it a few times, with one amount being 25 billion for the wall. Trump threatened to veto it so the Senate didn't pass the bill. Seems like it was addressed to me

Funny question, coming from a lefty.

I don't believe it's meant to be partisan at all.

But let's be honest. If politics has no place in the SCOTUS, would the democrats have gone through the trouble of inventing a fake sexual assault story to try and torpedo BK's nomination? I'll go with "No".

The fact that congress politicized it to hell and turned it into a boondogle does not mean it's not worthy of an emergency declaration.

They're the ones that are supposed to handle this kind of stuff, and they had their chance. This doesn't admit a damn thing about it being an emergency or not.

Obama issued a national emergency over Flint's drinking water that is still active today, as well as 37 other active "national emergencies."

The reason people think you're trolling is because you have ZERO knowledge beyond what the media feeds you and you repeat yourself. You also are very disingenuous and play the "unreasonable fool" too much to take overly seriously.

You should get a hobby.

meh.
Not necessarily. I believe the observation was the phone and pen were viable as long as the next POTUS did not have an eraser and phone. Turns out the next POTUS had that eraser. EO's have all the foundational solidity of sandy loam on a faultline.

Who has the power of the purse?
And these national emergencies are quite different.

Is the “power of the purse” your legal argument? You don’t want to add any? If that’s the only one, I’m prepared to present my rebuttal. But I don’t want to go until you have had a chance to make your entire argument. Take your time.
