I have talked with and listened to a lot of Va. Republicans and conservative independents say they are going to vote for Bernie in the Democrat primary on March 3. This will cause a train wreck for down ballot Democrats on the state and local level here in Virginia if Bernie is the nominee. We sure want to do our part to help make that happen.

A lot of republicans are Bernie primary voters... and it makes a lot of sense for down ballot races.

Why is Bernie worse then Bloomberg down ballot?

I have been calling for this in every state. Republicans know Trump will be on the ballot in the fall. In some states you have to vote your party in the primary, or some have rules set by the party where the primary is open and you vote in whichever party you support.

In Louisiana, Louisiana allows the party to determine who can vote in their respective primary. Both parties took the stance to only allow registered Party members to vote in their presidential primary.

So, if the crazy Democratic clown car still looks uncertain, Louisiana Republicans should switch to Democrats to vote in the Democratic primary. The deadline to postmark mail in changes or visit the registrar of voters office to make changes is March 4th. You can also do it online until March 14th.

Let’s keep the shite show going.

A lot of democrats probably voted for Trump in the 2016 primaries thinking he'd be the easiest to beat.

Exactly. Trump will destroy any boring regular politician like Bloomberg. I'd much rather him go up against someone like that

Because Bernie is a Socialist and if he's the Democrat Party's nominee for President then he pretty much paints the party and all Democrats running under their banner as being Socialist.

To make it a little more extreme, imagine if a party elected a known, documented, unapologetic and admitted pedophile as their nominee and part of their platform was to lower the age of consent throughout the country to 13. Anyone running for an office as a member of that party would be tarnished as being at least an approver of pedophilia.

That's what Bernie brings to the Democrat ticket and it's why I hope he wins their Primary.

I'll be so happy to ask my Dem Rep if he supports his party's nominee from President.

Bernie may finally help get the guy out and GOP in that seat.

I am registered No Party. I hope that means I can screw the democrats by voting for “CRAaaazy Bernie”.

The democrats will not let him win at the convention. It is just funny to see the s$it show starts.

The more Bernie wins, the harder it is going to be for the Democrat Powers That Be(tm) to screw him at the convention and the bigger the drama it will cause if/when they screw him.

This is my first time to use "if/when" on the Bernie screwing and I'm still a bit hesitant on it as it's still early. My reasoning in using it now is Bernie's winning performance over the previous week. The more wins he gets, the more pressure there will be on the delegates and super-delegates to support him.

Remember, the Democrat Party created super-delegates in an attempt to keep from electing another candidate they deemed "unelectable" (ie: McGovern in 1972 and Jimmy Carter's re-election in 1980). That all of their current candidates are "unelectable" against Trump isn't germane to the topic.

After the 2016 debacle they changed some of the rules on super delegates which, I think, could make it even more of a shite-show.

Under these new rules, super delegates cannot vote on the first presidential nominating ballot unless a candidate (via the outcome of primaries and caucuses) has gained enough votes (more than 50% of all delegate votes) among only the elected pledged delegates. Super delegates may vote in subsequent ballots when it becomes a contested convention in which the pledged delegate vote alone is insufficient to determine the nominee. This does not preclude super delegates from publicly endorsing a candidate of their choosing before the convention.

What this is going to boil down to is how badly do The Powers That Be(tm) NOT want Sanders as their candidate. If Bernie wins enough states then he wins enough delegates to avoid a contested convention (which is now the only time super delegates can vote). At least right now the only way The Powers That Be(tm) in the Democrat Party can keep Bernie from being their nominee is to break their own rules in such a fashion as to make their 2016 shenanigans look like a Care Bears hug-fest.

So this convention looks to be coming down to how does the Democrat Party wish to break itself:

1. Do the party leaders allow Bernie to become their nominee and risk being known as The Socialist Party for the next 30 years? (which will drive voters away)

2. Do the party leaders break their own rules by overriding delegates or forcing them to vote contrary to voter mandates and vote against Bernie? This would result in a literal riot at the convention.

Either way the winner is Trump.

Bernie represents the first opportunity for socialists to actually pull the lever for a candidate who openly promotes the philosophy they have supported, but not publicly, for decades. Backfire potential is high, in my opinion.

A MAGA hat wearing baw will shoot Bernie while shouting Viva le Trump. It’s a win-win scenario. Bernie is effectively removed from the equation while an enraged Democratic base rallies behind their gal Hillary who will reluctantly agree to take on the nomination.

If that happened it would quickly be discovered that the shooter was a Hillary supporter in disguise, which would bring us back to the riots of scenario 2.

No Trump baw is going to shoot Bernie, they want to see Bernie get his arse whipped in November.

I'm there baby! They make it easy as it's the normal voting process.

List of candidates on VA Dem primary - everyone is there for the Bernie Buildup

I'm looking forward to some spirited convo with the Dems pushing candidates outside the polling place. I'll probably say something like "yeah, I'm excited about voting for the person who'll make me give up my ranch for a 600 sq ft apt like most Soviet families live in....YAY!!!!".

Hopefully, they'll give out the normal "I Voted" stickers. I'll let all the flaming libs in the office wonder what I'm up to - they know better than to discuss politics with me as I always make them feel like idiots.

Are there any states that MB is almost a lock to win based on their voters' demographics? Or does he have to catch a wave & ride it to the top to win anywhere? Safe to say there are several locks for Bernie The Red?
