As recited during pride month at Progressive Christianity, United Church of Christ, etc. churches in the US and Canada.

The author of this gem (“The Sparkle Creed”) explained the pious underpinnings of the creed as follows:

quote:

I was trying to type "Apostle's Creed," and autocorrect changed it to "Sparkle Creed," so I decided to write a Sparkle Creed for Pride Month.

Video of the creed being recited at a church (Wayside Friends) in Oregon: Twitter

quote:

THE SPARKLE CREED
Rev. Rachel Small Stokes

I believe in the non-binary God whose pronouns are plural.

I believe in Jesus Christ, their child, who wore a fabulous tunic and had two dads, and who saw everyone as a sibling child of God.

I believe in the rainbow Spirit, who shatters our image of one white light and refracts it into a rainbow of gorgeous diversity.

I believe in the church of everyday saints, as numerous, creative, and resilient as patches on the AIDS quilt, whose feet are grounded in mud and whose eyes gaze at the stars in Wonder.

I believe in the calling to each of us, that love is love is love, so beloved, let us love.

I believe, glorious God. Help my unbelief.

Amen.

Believe what you believe, I guess?

I’d say I’m ready for June to be over.
But I don’t think this madness is limited to one month any more.
I may need to take an extended break from social media; seeing this stuff is becoming a beatdown.

Didn't the Catholic Church change their creed to make God not have a sex?

Absolutely.
It is your right to believe what you want, but when you do this...your not a Christian.
Lol.. Progressive Christianity? God is God, he doesn't "progress". He the same yesterday, today, and forever, otherwise He isn't God. She can't be reading the Christian bible, if so she skips a lot of pages!

No, but some left wing parishes have been removing the words "for us MEN and for our salvation" from the Nicene Creed. Obviously the influence of gender-neutral language.

Christians are weak. Shame on them.

Also, I am increasingly convinced these left-wing "churches" (United Church of Christ, PCUSA, ELCA, Unitarian, Episcopal) are just organizations for leftists to avoid taxes.

Isaiah 40:8

The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of God will stand forever.

Lol.. Progressive Christianity?

It’s a head-scratcher.

Put a few braids in your hair and you’ll be accused of cultural appropriation.
But disagree with the “dogmas” of Christianity?
Just Invent your own doctrine and call it Christianity.

quote:

About Us

Progressive Christianity is an open, intelligent and collaborative approach to the Christian tradition and the life and teachings of Jesus that create pathways into an authentic and relevant religious experience.

Do you find more grace in the search for meaning than in absolute certainty, in the questions rather than in the answers?

Do you have religious interests and longings but cannot accept the beliefs and dogmas you associate with Christianity?

Are you repelled by claims that Christianity is the “only way”?

Do you find solace, meaning, or connection to the teachings and the path of Jesus of Nazareth?

Organized religion does not have to be irrelevant, ineffectual, or repressive…

For sure.
And to each his own.
I don’t dispute that.

I just wonder why these folks don’t start their own religion, rather than reimagining and redefining a current one?

God is The Heavenly Father.

Intelligence nor a collaborative approach are needed. God never required that. The one thing required is faith. God's teachings aren't like a piccadilly, you can't pick and choose. It's all or nothing. I struggle with sin as all of us do, but when sin happens I don't call it something else or pretend it isn't sin. People over intellectualize and end up in abstract rather than reality.

But we didn't call it Islam.

Got it. I knew something changed related to gender.

I hope she repents of all these many ways she is offending God and blaspheming Him.

Put 100 women and 10 men on an island and in 100 years you will have a thriving community.

Put 100 women and 10 trans men on an island and in 100 years you will have nothing.

This same clown likely doesn’t believe in a literal Hell, but will be in for a big surprise one day.
