I would not make that assertion. There are plenty of dumb conservatives. In fact, I'd suspect just the opposite of your assertion. More 'conservative' voters are liable to take the 'take care of myself and my possessions' route than progressives.
I don't envision many soi boys out there patrolling their street. The only 'progressives' that I would assume stayed would be homeless idiots who don't even know what is happening.

It's a right wing message that hurricane warnings are false and only put out to push a false agenda about climate change. That was clearly the message from Rush Limbaugh before Hurricane Irma. So these right wing science deniers should have to fend for themselves, right?
