Godawful to Fair Scale.

At home (Vestavia Hills), it's pretty good. No problems and I buy a bag of ice once a week rather than run the ice maker.

The office tap water in Hoover is godawful with a funny smell.

Yes, we've established I'm bored at work.

ETA: Dammit. Wrong board. Move to OT please.

What's the reason for this?

Cypress/Black Bayou Water Co-op (for people on the lake) is outstanding. But it's expensive as hell. You cannot water your lawn with the stuff. We use wells and lake water for that.

Don't like the flavor of the ice in an icemaker. It sits too long. So I just buy a bag for 2 bucks and don't run it.

Very good.

My neighborhood has it's own water well. We tap the same aquifer as Kentwood Springs.

For people that like alkaline water they would love this water. It runs a natural pH of 8.7.

It bums me out that the DEQ requires the neighborhood to inject chlorine into our tiny neighborhood distribution system. The chlorine residue is less than 2.0 ppm however there was a time when we were not required to inject chlorine and the water was excellent. I understand why DEQ requires us to inject chlorine into the water supply but I really think it's unnecessary in our particular situation.

From the Mississippi River in BR to the Pearl River on the LA/MS border, it's the same aquifer.

Probably best in the world where I live. Bottled water does not sell very well here.

I suppose, but I've never really liked ice maker ice. I like what I get at the store. Smaller cubes and I know it will taste the way I like, and it's only 2 bucks a week.

Fultondale water stinks like hell. Bottled water for most everything and I buy ice.

Florence, AL - It's tolerable and I still buy ice.

NOLA has very hard water with high mineral content. It's bad for your skin, hair, clothes, appliances, plumbing, and just about anything else it comes into contact with. The SWB should either correct this problem or pay to install water softeners on every home it services.

Houston water has a lot to be desired. Baton Rouge had great water in comparison.
