BR annexed a bunch of money making things when the first St George push happened. Specifically the Mall of LA, LSU, Siegen Marketplace. But left out all the neighborhoods around them. If that doesn’t show you what BR is about, nothing will
Broome doing the brothas wrong

Which neighborhoods requested annexation? The only one I am aware of was annexed. Also residential annexations are more complex due to VRA of '65 which is why the unincorporated area had never been annexed to begin with.

I believe Broome was mayor when Siegen shopping center was annexed.
Now Kip could have certainly started the process.

Why is that the case?
Legit question, which elections depend on BR city limits?
Perhaps city judges and Constable???
Mayor, council, school board, legislature, etc. do not follow BR city borders.
Did they use the VRA as an excuse?

And they must also be contiguous to the BR border

According to the Sec of State website. 03/067 voted 53.81% in favor of St. George.
Interesting observation on the breakdown of the votes in the SG area. 66594 people voted for Governor, but only 32258 people cast a vote in the SG election. Weird.
ETA: Checking my spreadsheet formulas. that total for the Gov. looks inflated. Advocate says only 54785 registered voters

To remain unincorporated? No, they don't. That's what we're discussing, not being annexed by Baton Rouge.

edit: I got the timing wrong and thought it was Broome, thanks Russian for correction.
Siegen Marketplace was annexed when Broome was mayor. You were correct about that.

I never realized the Siegen Marketplace was ever annexed at all. Did that include what is now Top Golf?
