My friend lives in 03/056. He voted for St George. I'll have to ask why his neighbors are such light in the sack nancies.

But there's nearly 2,500 people living in the area, but I wonder if it's mainly college students in apartments and other rental properties.

True, the majority of voters within an area that was drawn up arbitrarily by just a handful of people voted yes.

Those same people excluded large areas the second time around where they knew the majority of voters would likely vote against the incorporation. They anticipated those people's wishes which would have created a situation where those voters would be forced to be in the new city against their wishes. Good for them for being sensitive to voters wishes!

Now that they know there are other large areas which also don't want to be incorporated but the organizers didn't anticipate their wishes correctly but you believe that's just too bad, right?

I thought YOU were better than this.....

The thing is no one knows how each subdivision, enclave or apartment complex votes. A precinct is just a line on the map used to organize the electorate.

All of your friends neighbors could have voted yes, but an adjacent subdivision could have voted no.

The thing is the law provides a method to “escape”. No one is “stuck”. Neighborhoods can organize and do as they please.
That’s how it works. That’s the American way.

That site can't be right. It says my precinct has 972 people in it. But 890 people voted on election day and the Sec of State site says turnout was 40%.

It is too bad, but I knew some would vote no.

But you are acting as if SG leaders have the right to change the city of SG simply by a committee vote, and I believe you know that’s not the case; thus I say you are trolling us all.

You know better.

You're like the people who said for two years there was no chance Trump would win and laughed at anyone who said otherwise. Now they live in the reality of the Trump Presidency and are relegated to the meager existence of the wrong side of history.

You spent years in opposition to St George high on a pedestal and laughing at those who thought it would happen. Now you're relegated to the St George reality and sewing discord to break it up.

I'm sad my neighborhood voted against it. However, a lot of them are retired and were most likely worried about change or affected by the excessive amount of opposition junk mail that flooded our mailboxes.

2500 residents, how many registered voters?
I believe that area is mostly that large residential area adjacent to the soccer fields and Walmart. It’s hard to tell if the apartment complexes across Burbank are included or not.

So they can either live with the results or move.

So, you think that's their only options? Love it or leave it!

You realize the Better Together jerkwads applied that same logic to the SG organizers who wanted a new city.

"If you don't want to be in East Baton Rouge Parish in an unincorporated area, just MOVE, assholes!!!"

We're now living in Bizarro World......

Thanks. I didn't see that.

I know the data exists to determine the early voters' precincts because that's what determines which card they're given to put into the voting machine to display the ballot for their area.

I'd like to see those early votes included, by precinct, in a final tally.

62% for St George (on election day at least). I was hoping for a little higher but I'll take it.

But not having early voting numbers doesn't give you the full picture. I wish they had the ability to combine those numbers. It's not impossible.

When you start reacting like your above comment is when I know you know I'm right.

You stop using logical thoughts and facts to refute what I've posted and resort to name calling and personal attacks.

That's been your SOP for years going back to the first petition drive.
