You’re factually correct. But why do it? Why celebrate witches?

No such thing as a “good witch” or white magic or “just a little harmless fun” imitating a character that casts spells, summons spirits, and other sordid rituals.

Ah of all the evil happening in our country, this is the one to get upset about. A bunch of housewives in Louisiana having a parade and libations. #eyeroll #facepalm

I don't know if this qualifies as tomfoolery.

Maybe chicanery, or even monkey business, had there been more devils.

It’s borderline teetering on full fledged shenanigans.

We can deplore with you. But The OP has nothing whatsoever to do with that. It's a frigging Halloween parade.

You’re being willfully ignorant to the facts but your mind is made up so for those who think it’s all harmless:

All made up silliness.

But it creates great opportunity for grifting idiots

Probably because it’s Halloween, and witches are a commonly associated with it and women

I don’t this is any type of worshipping or celebrating witchcraft, it’s just people dressing up having fun for Halloween. No different than if they dressed up as Greek mythological figures, vampires, or superheroes.

Sometimes you have to pick battles, this one is way down the list of things that are corrupting our society and culture.

It’s all just fun and games until you end up in a cult though. Look it all starts silly and the vast majority probably keep it at the silly level but this could also lead to some troubling stuff especially if you are a person that is in a rough patch in life.

The deal is one doesn’t need to “pick battles” to stand for what is right vs wrong. Either it is or it isn’t.

Not making a clarion call to set up Salem Witch trials for the Riverbend folks…I’m trying to make a point that we in this country so easily celebrate paganism all in the name of a “good time”.

Okay, so you’re against celebrating Halloween, not so much how you celebrate it. Just curious, what other holidays do you deem as pagan?

A lot of the upscale subdivisions in BR have a witches parade for their suburban Stanley cup toting, soccer moms to get wasted and dress slutty.

Thank you for making my point with that photo…they have on there a sign stating “Coven State Champs 1692”.

A coven is an assembly of witches.
1692 is year of the Salem Witch trials.
Many people were tortured and hung from false accusations by little girls caught practicing “black magic”.

All harmless fun.

True, but I think these are just some skanky housewives that did a quick Google to figure out that info and make a poster. They are using this as an excuse to get away from their husbands and kids, dress slutty like they did in past college Halloweens, and drink Nutrls.

We have bigger fish to fry. What about the slutty teachers and nurses? I always preferred them over the witches.
