Roughly $50 in my whole life. Definitely under $100.

Once and I think it was around $100. I think it was 5 tickets for 7 days and I came home and picked the numbers using a random number generator on line. I think the Powerball had gotten to be over a couple of billion dollars.

Ill spend $20 when it reaches a billion dollars.

No. It's because you're making the asinine leap of logic I'm making that claim when all I am doing is telling people who spend their money on lottery tickets that they can't complain about not having enough money for food, gas and rent.

frick you, the groceries stores the best spots to buy scratch offs. Then after I'm done scratching my winners in the parking lot, I can stop at the gas station on the way home to get my winnings.

my oldest sister is a tenured economics professor at a large state university in florida. she's nearing retirement now about 20 years ago she conducted a study and published papers and testified before multiple state legislatures about how lottery's are simply voluntary taxes placed on the poor.
that's what got her tenured and the head of the economics department.

I think you mean improbable. If it were impossible, no one would ever win. The jack pot would be in the 10s of billions.
Buying lottery tickets is really no different than buying a beer and pissing it out a few hours later. You're still out $5 or 10 bucks.

I only have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics so I'm not an expert in economics like your sister but your sister is correct. I've been saying ever since they began having state lotteries that it is a form of voluntary taxes. The last time I looked only rich people could afford to pay more taxes than they have to pay.

I have been self employed since about 1971 so I don't work for an hourly wage. Every dollar I make is hard earned money and I am not going to give it away gambling.
You can't lose money if you don't play.
