If I even suspected I'd have to deal with a person that had TDS to the point it would be brought up, I wouldn't be around them... that includes family. I've cut off communication with idiots.

I have a cousin that I'm close to who is an old school liberal. He's a super intelligent attorney and I'm looking forward to hear his take on the election. But he's not one of the modern sky screaming Democrats.

Well, not this year since I'm still in long term recovery from a pretty invasive ankle surgery and still getting around on one leg for at least another month at best.
My usual gathering is around 25 people, so a very mixed bag of political ideology and I'm more than glad to not have to deal with any of it.
I've never been fond of arguments over politics or religion since most people are firmly set in their beliefs and no amount of arguing is going to change their opinion.

Our whole family knows how I feel. My nephew just got engaged to a lib from Delaware or some other shithole and I've been told she's a whacko. Don't understand why he'd go that route (he's a duck hunter - or was) but hey, pussy's undefeated.

What I have discovered over the past several years is some of the topics I wouldn't necessarily consider to be political are perceived as political by those on the left.....it's not easy being around those on the left for any lengthy amount of time without risking saying something they would deem offensive.

It wan’t behavior though. They simply took it upon themselves to alienate themselves because they are the ones who couldn’t tolerate conservative opinions, and seeing the overwhelming majority of my extended family are pretty staunch conservatives, their opinions are what apparently offended them. One wrote her entire family off, a really confused human being, and the other was just a true believer who preaches tolerance but hates putting it into practice in her own life.
