I mean logically the argument doesn't make sense when speaking of Christianity
The Christian faith believes that the only sinless, and most innocent human being that ever lived was tortured and murdered. Did Jesus not pray enough? did he stray too far from god?
Sometimes the suffering that occurs is not meant to be a reflection of those that suffer. Christianity would teach that suffering and evil is simply a product of living post fallen-man
Christianity would also teach that although the suffering may seem senseless, there is always a purpose even if not immediately evident to us in the time

Not all atheists have a bone to pick with Christianity, but it’s easy to tell when one does because it permeates their worldview to such a degree that they move with the government narrative in such a way that you can’t help but think their emotions, namely anger dictates their judgment

One can learn much about God's view on life reading the Old Testament. He often asked men to do things that brought with it much suffering and when the men would cry out and complain, God would tell them get up, dust off and get to work. All the wonderful promises Jesus made were after this earthly life and only possible thru Him. The ruler of this world is the prince of the power of the air.

My feeling is that God -only- promised hardship and tribulation among his followers in their earthly lives, if anything. He never promised an easy ride.
Its a fallen world. In this fallen world the innocent and Christians also face the consequences of a fallen world.
