A salient point. Unfortunately many here believe the Democratic Party wants to round them up, make them eat bugs, take away all firearms, etc, etc.

That’s because you don’t know anything about it or you would fear it and that is the issue with the US electorate as a whole, completely ignorant on the very issues that impact their lives. Don’t give me the “muh social security and Medicare are are examples of socialism” idiotic argument. That argument falls flat because both programs are already largely unaffordable and widely abused now multiply those two government program monstrosities and apply it to every part of your daily life then you might begin to understand why they don’t work

Well, the three I listed in my post are pretty good examples. I guess the bank bailouts occurred during the GWOT and Iraq but had nothing to do with the objectives of the war. The airlines have been bailed out a few times, most recently from the CARES Act. Congress has been authorizing crop subsidies since the 1920s.
