Yeah, but you’ll never get to the no safety net or handouts unless you outlaw the marxist democrat party, and about half of the republican party. So the only reality based option is to close the border. But libertarians aren’t reality based.

"disillusioned", not. You are very educated as to the dire lack of virtue, vision and incurable division in our body politic and probable outcome, and therein pained and frustrated. Knowing the truth and seeing the future comes with a burden and cost re quality of life. Some people prefer ignorance. I might long for their relative comfort and naivete, but I would never willfully choose to go back.
It might help to believe that many up in DC 'believe' that they are doing the right thing for the right reason. Like children, they may err in relative innocence. Such belief might help your burden, but it won't change the coming painful consequences. Such is the road to 'Heaven', and 'Hell'. Embrace the drama and challenge. And pray for mercy and vision.

The last few years of Bush II made me realize that the R's are just as bad as the D's. Until that time, I was young and foolish enough to believe that there was an actual difference between them. McCain sealed it.
I still trust certain individual politicians but as a whole, the GOP is as useless to me as the Dems. Too many Cornyns, McConnells, Romneys.

I am registered with No Party Affiliation. I left the GOP on 1/7/21 after almost 28 years. Screw them. Screw the Democrats.
