People claim for hogs but unless you are hunting from a helicopter in West Texas then you aren't using an AR. If you are using an AR in the woods for hunting then you are more often than not an idiot and nobody wants to be around you.

You clearly don't know shite about guns. Why would you even post?

that's 100% false. Depending on how it's chambered (are platform can fire dozens of different rounds) can be ideal hunting rifle. .223 is a great pig and coyote round, especially if you need a quick follow up shot .308 is great for deer as long as you are not like in Colorado trying to take dumb long shots.

I'm just getting in on the end of this but I can see ShreveportHog94 epitomizes the anti-gunner that is totally ignorant on the subject.

The AR platform has been used and modified for use on so many variants that it would be nearly impossible for an expert to draw some kind of a line between what the liberal calls useless for hunting and variants made specifically for hunting.

Fact is there is no difference. The AR is light, accurate and holds up well in bad weather. Perfect hunting platform.

To really fuk his/her mind up is something like I have. A short black light rifle that is chambered for 9mm. It can be had in .40 and .45 too. I have a laser on mine. I can fuk up more live creatures faster in close quarters with it that with my AR.

What would blow his/her mind is all the others out there that are even better for bad deeds. AKs, all the bullpup types.

How about the Saint pistol, a .223 PISTOL based on the AR platform!??!

Question way too broad. They'd make a horrible duck or goose gun.

Also not sure why the question is relevant?

This is exactly why it's such a great everyday rifle.
I don't know about other people, but I clean mine in the shower with hot water. Can't do that with my other guns.

Of course they know nothing about the other calibers that are using that platform now. My son has a .308. I'll bet old Shreveportpig's brain would fry if you get him to figure out where that one falls in the ban/don't ban grouping.

Looks just like the original AR15. Is one hellova good deer rifle.

I'm wanting to get an ar 10 .308 too, friend is offering me a good deal on a Bushmaster, but I have some other stuff going on right now,and can't jump on it. He has probably never shot it more than 3 times.

My son bought one 5 years ago and hasn't shot it yet. I have no idea why not. He wanted .308 (one of my favorite rounds) for Christmas. He still won't say why he hasn't shot it yet.

It's not like finding a place to shoot it is a problem. I have a 200 yd. range right out my back door.
