Personally I'd like for the monuments to stay its a reminder of history and a slippery slope to remove them. But I've always enjoyed going to Vicksburg and touring the Civil War sites, etc. But I can underatand the challenge of trying to explain to your black child that the man being honored was fighting for state rights which included keeping slavery.
