My dad had 2 guns stolen out of his truck. Filed a police report and everyrhing about a year ago.

Funny thing, he showed me the two guns last week.

Smart man.

A few would quit in protest.
Most are dependent on their job and can’t give up their pension etc., so they would hold their nose and do what they’re told.

How do they accomplish it?

Crash in your door and swarm your house, handcuff everyone, take the guns and frog march everyone to the rail lines, pack everyone in the freight cars, intern you into the work camps, eventually you get the gas chamber and the ovens.

That's how it works.

IMO they'll simply match gun ownership records with the owners. Then send out a letter to the gun owner informing him/her to turn in their weapon(s). In the meantime, the feds will begin the process of federalizing your local police. If you're receiving any sort of government assistance, such as Social Security, food stamps, or VA Benefits, that will be suspended pending your compliance. If you continue to resist, your name will be put on a domestic terror list. Which will subject you to all sorts of headaches including, but not limited to, loss of job, a cut-off of air travel, etc.

A tyrannical government has all sorts of creative ways to force compliance.

They want those privately owned weapons.

The left seems to love gun "buy backs". They'll start that PR campaign. We'll give you fair compensation. Then they'll pivot to a media blitz about how surrendering your weapon is the morally right thing to do. It's the American thing to do. Americans will be encouraged to report your friends, family and neighbors who are illegally harboring weapons of war. ATF conducts a gun raid on your home.

You will never be able to take it to a shooting range or out in public without the possibility of someone turning you in

Practically it would keep usability to large areas of private land without prying eyes and ears. Even then someone may call you in.

This is what they want

It will be like hiding Jews in Nazi Germany

You'll break an arbitrary unknown law and have to prove your innocence from a jail cell. In the meantime some red flag law will allow them to deweaponize your home

Going after guns is just a feint. They’re going to make ammunition impossible for the average person to find or afford. All the guns in the world are worth nothing without bullets for those guns to fire.

Look at how they did it in Australia.

The populace there is more compliant but that is the model on how it happens.

They'll make it nearly impossible to get ammo.

Aka they still have millions of guns there

But you cannot use them or show them to anyone

Making them useless
