The investigation?

Members of Congress should have been read in on the scope of the investigation from day one. They have not been
Yes they have. The original memo naming Mueller gives the scope of the investigation. It doesn't give the details, which the Republicans on the House Oversight committee have been asking for.

How did the Mueller special counsel appointment go from Russian collusion to porn stars?
Will be interesting to ultimately see the thread here. We know that Cohen has been a subject of the Mueller investigation with regard to Trump Tower Moscow and probably also for the Prague meeting with Russian officials or proxies in August 2016. Steve Bannon (at least a witness in the Mueller probe) has publicly alleged that many women were paid off during the Trump campaign. Not sure who might've informed on Cohen but Bannon, Rick Gates, or Felix Sater would be top candidates.

Everyone is terrified of being accused of obstruction of justice if they put a stop to Mueller’s witch hunt.
The point of your OP asks how did it go from from Russian collusion to porn stars.
My point is that it is an ongoing LEGAL investigation. Investigations sometimes lead to other illegal activities. What those other illegal activities have yet to be reported on.
The fact that it hasn't been stopped means that the investigation is legitimate. If it was not legitimate then someone would have LEGALLY steeped in and stopped it. If they have a LEGAL reason to stop it then it's not obstruction.

Isn't that what police do when they enter your house with a warrant. Look for any illegal activity?
Yikes. It is truly sobering how ignorant some people are. And it is scary that despite your complete ignorance, you would find what you wrote above acceptable.

If it's illegal like everyone on here is saying, then why hasn't some great legal mind stepped in and stopped the whole thing?
Holy smokes. Your ignorance regarding procedure is astounding.

Please explain why it hasn't been stopped then?

The Michael Cohen matter is being handled by the SDNY. I do not believe Sessions has recused himself from it.
SCO is still handling the Russia investigation.
the level of denial on this board is amazing. SDNY is handling the Cohen investigation, specifically b.c it was outside of Mueller's scope.
yet mueller is a bogeyman.

Mueller had a flow chart taped to his wall.
Investigate Trump. Proof of collusion? Yes or no. If no, then move to obstruction. Yes or no? If no, back to collusion. Still no? Move on to Porn Star he screwed 12 years ago. Nothing there? Move on to jaywalking. Nothing? Ride it out till after the blue wave and impeach anyways.

Good Lord. If a search is deemed illegal, it must be done by the court. The court would then rule any evidence from the illegal search as inadmissible. It is why the poster on the last page asked you if it had been to court yet. You were too smug in your ignorance to realize why he asked the question.
The body that has oversight prior to making it In Front of a judge is the house oversight committee. They have requested from the DOJ for a report detailing the scope of the investigation. The DOJ has refused. ignorant people, like you, cite the ongoing investigation as justification for ignoring the oversight committee's demand.
Yet here you are...smugly opining that it must not be illegal because "some great legal mind hasn't stopped it".
As I said earlier, your ignorance of procedure is astounding.
Anything else?

Sessions was asked if he was recused and wouldn't say and the DOJ spokesperson the same day cited DOJ policy that they wouldn't comment on recusals (not sure why Sessions did before although it would've been virtually impossible not to). I assume he is recused though because Rosenstein was the one who signed off on the SDNY warrants for Cohen.

So what you're saying is that nothing has shown that the investigation is illegal to this point?
Posted on 5/4/18 at 10:42 am to BBONDS25
Yeah, denial. Cohen's lawyer said it was a referral. SDNY confirmed.
And the SDNY said the investigation proceeded independent from the SCO’s investigation

What you are doing is called a "bootstrap". It's a very elementary tactic and is roundly mocked in the legal world.

That isn't what I've said at all. I haven't discussed anything but procedure. You were clearly ignorant to the process. The oversight committee is going to get he documents it requires and they will make a call. It won't ever get to court.
But that is what you've said. In order for it to be deemed illegal it must go to court. So nothing illegal yet.
If they are going to get the documents and make the call then what is everyone bitching about?
