Is there some requirement that small city mayors can’t run? I’d much rather a veteran and small time mayor be elected than some DC bigwig that doesn’t understand the rest of the country.

I believe POTUS has/had quite a bit more than the TV gig going for him. It ain't like he is Shelby Stanga, (the swamp man), or anything. Who, the last time I saw him was wearing nothing but a bobcat skin, for under wear, with the fur on the inside. Don't get me started on that.

Donald Trump was a household name when he decided to run. Everybody knew him. Plus he’s super rich.
You need money to run a campaign. Trump, like Bloomberg, spent his own money to get his campaign off the ground.
Pete Buttigieg, however, was a broke mayor of a random town in Indiana. Nobody knew him nationally. He didn’t have any money. He didn’t have some large campaign staff.
How in the world did the nobody mayor of South Bend, Indidna even decide to run for President and actually have the means to do it?
Where did he get the money?
I’m just really curious as to how he launched his presidential campaign and why it didn’t flame out before it started?

His campaign has been supported by fifteen (15) billionaires.
Hes well spoken and good looking.
The president of Calcasieu parish could run for president if he wanted to.
Lots of nobodies run. They dont have unlimited resources though so they cant buy a project team and all that goes with it.
If he wasnt gay he'd probably win the nomination.
Today NBC endorsed Sen Amy Klobuchar as slightly first choice and Biden 2nd choice.
Moderately lib and moderately lib.
