It is beyond frustrating to know so many people here in Metro ATL that have fled the NE and MW, yet continue to proudly support the same crap that drove their companies to leave or shut down, to raise property taxes, to raise taxes, to allow crime to run amok, to generally allow for overall decline of living conditions to the point where you'd uproot your family from a place they've lived for generations... and STILL VOTE THE SAME DAMN WAY.

It's even worse in Florida. We don't live there, but we have vacation property. I'm on several "moving to..." groups to keep in the know. So many people move specifically for the jobs, taxes, cost of living etc... and yet VOTE THE SAME DAMN WAY.

"The schools here are terrible." Yet, you moved. I've been to Allentown, PA... the schools aren't anything remarkable.

"The traffic here is horrible." Yet, you moved. Yeah, the NJ Turnpike or anywhere in the Tri-State area are ANY better.

Maybe require a probation period before voting in anything but national elections/measures?

BBQ. Lots of BBQ.

Here in Texas, Tex-Mex seems to work as well.

As I was told long ago, by my Boss while we were installing overhead cranes.

1. You can't fix stupid.

2. Just because I talk slow, does not mean my mind works that way.

I'm afraid it's not just southern states. Look what the CA infection has done to Colorado. I think you could say they helped destroy what was once a very different Oregon, as well.
Now they have their sights set on AZ, TX, MT, etc...Not good.

IF YOU MOVE DUE TO INSANE TAXATION AND STILL VOTE FOR THE SAME LEFTIST IDIOTS, YOU ARE A F**KHEAD. :angry

I've lived in Metro Atlanta for 30 years (transplant from NYC) and if anything, the transplants shifted Metro Atlanta from blue (as recently as 20 years ago Democrats owned statewide offices and held both Senate seats) to red.

We’ve certainly had our share of California transplants in Texas but I’ve found that many of them were the conservatives that got out first. I’m hoping that many of the rest will come around after being away from the constant brain washing.

That reminds me of the old joke.

During WW2, German POWs were housed on farms across the south. There were no walls, where could they go? But every once and while, a POW would try and run for it.

One fellow in Tennessee was a shot by an old farm wife, while on the run.

When the sheriff came down to collect him, he pulled aside the woman and said, gently, “Ma’am, you can’t just shoot prisoners, even if they are Germans.”

She replied

“German?“

“I thought he was a yankee!”

Related joke-

“We will be having the Do What You Feel Like Festival this coming weekend.

It replaces the Do What We Tell You Festival started by German immigrants in 1945.”

State law that says new residents are not full residents until 10 years. Can’t vote until then.

As Auggie stated above, reeducation camps.

All Yankees need to be sent off to reeducation camps. They can grow their own food and build their own shelters. An honest days labor and an evenings education for a couple of years ill set them free.
