Yeah, it is known as crossing a killing field similar to the Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall from the good old days of the Cold War. The odds are not stacked in their favor as China will send them back to NK if caught.

And if successful, the gov't will kill their family and friends left behind.

It might be the hair. Do you think his hair-do is his secret?

I'm thinking that has a lot to do with it. I'm making an appointment today. Or just picking up some clippers from Walgreens.

instead of making his hair unique, he made it a requirement, though. proves he has no idea about economics

It's important to note, also, that rightwingers are the first and loudest to object any time initiatives for critical thinking are proposed, like new maths within Common Core.

the problem with the new maths in CC, at least the ones i've seen, is that it ignores the building blocks of math in order to attempt to teach thinking skills. not only do you lose your base, but you can't just teach kids how to think...esp average or below average ones

and, as a person who personally developed similar methods to those being taught, i can tell you that it's only possible with a strong base in the subject area. mass confusion is very possible/likely

The cult of personality will never die out so long as their is one descendant to pull out of the treasure trove of Kims.

Actually, it's why homeschoolers don't want a public education. They can't stand that their children might absorb a diversity of attitudes from other people. It's easier to instill a dogma when your victim is in isolation, not when he's out experiencing his neighbors.
Me thinks you didn't comprehend the point. You are correct that homeschoolers almost certainly do so in large part to minimize outside influences.

HOWEVER.

With homeschooling, you get some variations. Not all homeschoolers believe the same things.

Liberals like PUBLIC education and want EVERYONE in it so they can get UNIFORM results. Hence, my original response that flew over your head. You lovers of the state probably, in your wet dreams, LOVE the results Kim gets. Oh, you may not want the nation to have those beliefs, but you wish you could figure out how to get public education to get such uniform results at indoctrination.

The problem many out there who talk about "teaching kids to think" miss is that "thinking" requires an ability to APPLY knowledge one has gained. They want to skip the knowledge gaining part and jump right to the thinking part.

It is exceedingly challenging to apply "thinking" skills to abstract math problems when you can't quickly call up in your head what 8*8 is and even when you do figure it out, you haven't got a natural understanding of why 9*8 is just "eight more than 8*8.

A single family had wonderous outcome for the five home schooled children. A total of five children entered college at the age of fourteen years or younger. They obviously failed at parenting the children to pull off those results.

ETA each of them is also proficient on at least one musical instrument,

It's a cruel joke. No way that everybody could have such perfect hair. Only the NK Leader and the Werewolf who hangs out at Trader Vic's can have such perfect hair.
