I found an article where an Alabama sheriff who had been arrested was replaced by the county coroner. But I didn’t see which agency arrested him.
Last paragraph
Seems a conflict of interest that the only person who can arrest the sheriff, also takes his place.

Do you agree with gun laws Aggiehank?
I am a gun owner (3 handguns, three rifles and two shotguns). Some would say I own an arsenal, and some would say I own a small handful of guns. Depends upon your perspective, I suppose.

Can you cite Southern state law that gives wide immunity to sheriffs?
Stupid buttfrickery of a fart sniffing liberal mindset.
Can you cite ANY law that can usurp the 2nd Amendment?

Well, it all started with Marbury v Madison...

The question was whether sheriffs are immune from arrest, or limited to arrest by only the county coroner.
But deflect away.

I don’t know about across the nation but in most southern states it is pretty damn hard to arrest the sheriff
Yep. Also, when you get out of the cockroach liberal infested zones of Fairfax, Loudon, Northern Prince William Counties and certain areas of Richmond, Virginia is a very Red AMERICAN state, full of hard working people who hunt, fish, and own weapons. Just because some gang thug fricks kill each other in downtown Richmond slums does not mean you should be able to disarm a responsible hard working American in Spotslyvania or Fauquier Counties.
Sniveling Democrats are weak cowards. If they attempt to enforce and confiscate, they will be the ones to spit blood. They don't have the intestinal fortitude for a real fight.

Although Marbury v. Madison set an abiding precedent for the court’s power in that area, it did not end debate over the court’s purview, which has continued for more than two centuries. In fact, it is likely that the issue will never be fully resolved. But the fact remains that the court has claimed and exercised the power of judicial review through most of U.S. history—and, as Judge Learned Hand noted more than a century later, the country is used to it by now. Moreover, the principle fits well with the government’s commitment to checks and balances. Few jurists can argue with Marshall’s statement of principle near the end of his opinion, “that a law repugnant to the constitution is void, and that courts, as well as other departments, are bound by that instrument.”
And?

And it’s complicated. Here we are more than 200 years later and no one has told the Supreme Court to frick off yet (I guess other than Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln).

Is it just automatic rifles you would like confiscated or automatic handguns as well?

I concede this point for sure.

Do you mean semi-automatic? None. Not one. The more people carrying, the merrier.

Police don't "charge" anyone.

A real libertarian wouldn't support any gun laws

Someone should research the legal standing of sheriffs before getting their panties in a wad over potential Governor actions.

The current Texas LTC statute does not create a “general” right to carry handguns, either openly or concealed. The position that officers must assume a person who openly carries a handgun does so lawfully does not appear to be currently supported in either Texas law or Supreme Court case law.
Sorry, bud

No it wasn't. It was a statement saying it is pretty darn hard to arrest a sheriff. Deflect away.
