Fixed
Aljazeera and other news outlets said it was us owned ship

Why don’t we just sail our ships over there and sink them ourselves?
Do the Houthis a favor and all since they are poor in a developing nation.

The flag a ship flies and where the ship is registered has nothing to do with who actually owns a ship. A ship can be registered anywhere, so most large ships fly a flag of convenience from a country that is friendly to shipping. Panama and Liberia are the two most common. Even Mongolia and land locked Bolivia are used. As you can imagine, the United States is not a preferred country. This particular ship is owned by a Greek company.
Flag of Convenience

So I’ve learned the Saudis are apparently worthless and impotent as frick as it concerns the Houthis.

Same. And these half measures are bullshite. My personal opinion is that we should just leave and let countries dependent upon that waterway for trade handle it. If we're not going to do that, then we should kick the ever living shite out of Iran's Navy in retaliation.

Can’t wait til Biden sends the Bud Lite Tranny to negotiate with them

I guess Pedo Joe will tell the Houthi’s that he has to blow up some more warehouses as retaliation. They need to get their equipment and people out of those warehouses before he does

Yea, well aware.
I've long had an issue with the flag of convenience thing. Fly a US flag, pay US taxes, get the full services of the USN. I just wish our tax and regulatory arrangements weren't so unfriendly to that.

Then why did you post this, which I was replying to? Not trying to be too antagonistic, but it seemed you thought the flag indicated ownership.

Maybe I am reading that wrong, but it seems you think the flag indicates ownership.

For an “average” container ship, it saves the owner of the ship about $3 million a year per ship to have it registered in Liberia, Mongolia, Marshall Islands, etc. versus the United States. A super tanker will be so much more.
And when bad shite goes down it is 5,000 miles from the U.S. and the U.S. Navy ain’t doing shite unless they have the opportunity to make “Capt. Phillips Part 2”. There is no way a sane person running a shipping company would give a few million extra dollars a year per ship to a country, the United States, that is actively trying to put them out of business.

The Houthi thoroughly defeated them.

"Never change the horse you're riding on mid-stream!"
That's the stock cry we hear during a war and a Presidential election, isn't it?
Except, we're not in a war.
Are we?
