This is the reason for the mask mandate.

It’s to pretend like there’s some managing it. That by our efforts, or more correctly, government fiat, we can wish away the virus.

That’s not how viruses work.

In businesses per the mandate

Put on the mask to go into the restaurant
Sit down take it off
Put it on to go to the bathroom
Sit down take it off
Pay the bill, put on the mask to walk out
Get outside, take it off

The blue disposable surgical masks are the best, light, stick in your pocket, throw it away when it gets sweaty

Whole thing is stupid

That’s a good way of putting it.

The fact of the matter is, until there is a vaccine and/or herd immunity begins to take over, its never going away.

I just wanted to point out the fact that Hidalgo claimed masks would save us all, and in reality, it hasn’t changed the direction one bit.

That seems unnecessary.i can just cook at home instead of play mask on and off. The restaurant owners need to rise up and raise hell to save their business.

They’re required in Houston too.
But my neighbors‘ teenage daughter down the street threw a pretty good-sized pool party this past weekend ... kids and parents.
Not a mask was to be seen—excluding the catering folks.

How many died?

This mornings update... notice anything?

quote:

Monday marked a four-day decrease in the number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Texas and the third straight day with a decline in the positive test rate, according to a Houston Chronicle analysis. From Sunday to Monday, ]Texas cases increased by 2.14 percent, or 7,153 cases, to 341,739 cases.

As of Monday evening, there were 10,569 patients hospitalized for COVID-19 in state hospitals. There were 11,167 beds available as well as 1,004 ICU beds available - marking the first time since July 8 that the state has had more than 1,000 empty ICU beds.

In the Houston region, cases had risen by 2.59 percent to 81,961 cases total. Sixteen new deaths were reported in the region yesterday, bringing the death count to 773. Harris County cases increased by 2.38 percent to 57,095 cases total.

So Texas decreasing but Houston increasing still. Hmm

How normal is it for the state to have more than 1000 empty ICU beds when not in a “pandemic”? Without that information the statement above in completely meaningless and pointless.

Why is it so hard for journalists to do their jobs?
