House GOP Passes Debt Ceiling Bill ... Huge Win for McCarthy

Hat's off to McCarthy! The guy has done incredibly well with a slim and mistrusting majority.
The MSM will make an arse of itself addressing this claiming it is inhumane and horrible. It limits discretionary increases to 1%/yr! DRACONIAN! Right?
It increases focus on domestic hydrocarbon productivity. Filthy!! Right?
The bill is being celebrated as DOA in the Senate. ..... Thanks PA & GA.

Senate is DOA on a few levels. Both Turtle and Feinslime are on their deathbeds the last time I heard.

Slightly more fair:
NBC: GOP-led House passes bill to hike debt limit and slash spending
The bill is going nowhere in the Senate. But Wednesday's successful vote marks a symbolic win for Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who struggled to unify Republicans behind a debt plan.

House GOP Passes Debt Ceiling Bill That Puts Tens of Thousands of Federal Jobs At Risk
They blast that headline like it's a bad thing. One of the biggest problems we face as a country is the expansion, and resulting added cost, of the federal government. Getting rid of thousands of federal employees would be a good thing.
There are tons of private sector positions for them to fill.

Very good start. I just PRAY we can get some REAL reforms when we take back the WH in '24.

It’s more than Pennsylvania and Georgia. You need 60 votes. They would never get it. Demorats, like locusts, stick together.

That’s when things probably WON’T happen.

im still not buying what he is selling
he went back on his word and only released j6 tapes to tucker knowing full well the fix was in and he wouldnt be allowed to expose anything more that a small bit about it and nothing of importance.
he is still a snake in sheeps clothing until i see proof otherwise beyond token gestures

DOA by the Senate …. So now the MSM can sky scream about the Dems defaulting on our debts??

Republican Voters: We want the Jan6 video! We deserve transparency!
McCarthy: I promise to release it all. It belongs to the people. I have the power as Speaker to release it and I will do that. You have my word.
* No Jan6 video *
McCarthy: I have passed a bill with no hope of ever becoming law. I have engaged in a zero consequences, 0% chance of winning, maneuver.
Republican Voters: OMG I love Kevin McCarthy. Yassss Queen, werk.

Senate is DOA
Not so sure. Republicans will all vote for it. Senator from California may not be in the chamber for the vote and Senators from Arizona and West Virginia may vote favorably.

Thought it’s still just 51 for budget matters

It amazes me so many celebrate fiscal irresponsibility

You're wrong about this, man. It would be a f'n awesome thing. How many federal, post office and contract workers are there now?

51 to pass to POTUS. He then vetoes and now it takes 60 to overide his veto. It won’t pass however when country defaults its on Potato Head and Dims. Symbolic because if either Senate or Potato bead don’t pass its on them. Also makes them have to come to Congress to eventually get a deal.
