Single-family construction increased for the fifth consecutive month, rising 2.0 percent above the revised higher figure for September. These are up 8.2 percent from a year ago.

September’s figures were revised upward to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.266 million homes from 1.256 million.

Permits defied expectations for a decline and instead surged much higher to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.461 million. That is the highest level in at least 12 years, 5 percent higher than the revised upward September figure and 14.1 percent higher than a year ago.

Very impressive.

It's like people have more money to do things with currently. How'd that happen? Hmmm.

I am meeting with a developer today. New 300 home community about to get underway. Homes starting in the 400’s up to 600’s.

It’s incredible right now

Imagine how good things would be if we didn’t have this pesky recession going on?

It really is doing well. The Louisville area has many new construction sites all over the city. Our construction side of our business for rental equipment has been unreal.

You guys are heartless bastards. New home construction is only up because of all the dead from the last tax cut because of reasons. Orange man bad!

Why didn't they just move into the houses the dead guys left behind?

It never ceases to amaze me how many of these houses are built and sold.
