That is incorrect. If you watched only his ads, you would of thought he was a Republican.

Ehh, that’s not was his website indicates. He’s unapologetically liberal. He’s certainly not hiding anything there.

People don’t realize how much of a jerk Cruz really is. People just don’t like him personally

You are assuming people went to that website. I promise you they do not.

TV ads are still #1 and word of mouth next. His TV ads were nothing of substance, pure Hope and Change. I have several democrats in my circles and they talked him up as Obama Part 2, because he was likable.

I like Ted and his positions, but he does not come across as a guy you want to hang out with. Whereas with Beta, you get the feeling that after he does his stump speech he's going to hang and have a beer or get stoned.

Ted needs to be a little looser

i sent numerous people to his website. not as saying "his stances are wrong" or anything, but just to educate people against misinformation for better or worse.

2 arguments made for him were "he's not for UHC and he's a proponent for the second amendment"

those 2 planks he blatantly says "healthcare is a right, i support medicare for all" and everything involving firearms was regulation and banning certain forms of firearms.

That went two ways. People saying "he wants to ban all guns" were proven incorrect as well.

He never ran as a moderate, he ran as a likeable liberal. very different than Wendy Davis, who a lot of her constituents didn't know she was a D until they got to the polls.

Doubtful. I doubt more than 0.1% of voters have ever even seen him in person, much less know him personally.

He has a very punchable face. Not sure what it is, but he has it. Also, the fact that Trump insulted his father and wife, and now they're buddy buddy. I know that's politics, but those optics hit some people here in Texas.

Ive never understood this. You have a 0% chance of having a beer or hanging out with Cruz or Robert Francis.

Not really capable. He’s a law/policy dork.

Sonic you’re voting for policy the differentiation was entirely clear here. This race shows how many voters vote for 1/image 2/ who threw think will win... rather than policy. It’s shameful.

I mean the choice of whether to vote for Ted is one thing, but I have no respect for him as a person. He has destroyed a ton of good will in the state.

Law/policy dork or not, he has one of the worst personalities I’ve ever seen.

well 99.99% of people's interactions with politicians are through television

What gets me is that Greg Abbott cruised to a win and I doubt that there is a paper's width of difference between Cruz and Abbott.....A lot of people voted a split on this and it was all about the personality.

When it comes to a campaign, like it or not, it becomes a popularity contest. On policy and the reflection of values that Texans embrace, Cruz should have gotten a 10 pt win. But when you have a younger guy who appears lose, rides a skateboard and has the energy that Beto had, you need t blunt it with someone just as energetic.

I may be wrong, but I don't think Cruz did a lot to try to win the race. He was complacent, and that worked out this time. He was running against a young guy with the platform of Bernie Sanders. Texas is not ready for that, and Cruz knew it.

A hard to like candidate vs. a charismatic candidate with $70million bankroll.

Nothing surprising about this.

I think when the local big money from Bass, et al was released, he thought he could go on cruise control. He was not ready for the big money dump near the end for Beto.

Personally, I think he needs to hang more with the folks at the Redneck Country Club and develop a looser personality. He comes across as too serious
