And yet, the governor won by 13%.

It's not Texas. It's just Cruz.

Beto effect.
Cruz is not the most engaging personality.

Trump needs to give Cruz a job and let Abbott run for his seat. Abbott outperformed him by 10 points.

Dems pumped in money from all across the country to interfere in Texas politics. Same in FL. Same in GA.

It's bullshite that a San Fran voter can influence other states.

It really was Cruz

He got 4.44 million in 2012

He’s short 200k votes this cycle. That would’ve been another 3% added to his overall win. (Which is where I thought he’d be 6-7% win).

Beto outperformed 2012 by 800k votes.

In a few years, Texas will be at a demographic tipping point unless whites wake tf up. It may be too late already.

If the GOP were to take up the banner of campaign finance reform I have no doubt that the Dems would be on board. How many elections have the Kochs and Adelsons and Mercers bought over the last 10 years?

I’m glad we have a bi-partisan agreement on this issue.

Abbott ran against a Hispanic lesbian who wasn't even a good Sheriff.

Cruz had an opponent who was nationally funded and a 2020 Dem pick for POTUS. Hard to compare the two.

Thank You. Dems/media/pollsters are going to read WAY TOO MUCH into this for the 2020 election.

Beto spent an insane amount of money, which allowed Rs to unseat other DIM Senators. And Cruz came off looking petty trying to take out Trump

Lupe got more votes than i thought she would. She was a god awful candidate and pretty much invisible during the campaign. Beto motivated people to vote and she benefited from that.

$70,000,000 of outside money goes a long way. And he still lost.

The Dems really kicked the can after Abbott murdered Wendy Davis
