I still say folks like Hogg are going about this the wrong way. Instead, of trying to make owning guns illegal, why not just make murder illegal?

That way, they can cover all their bases with one simple law. It wouldn't matter, then, what weapon was used. The act of murdering someone would then be illegal.

Simple.

Curious as to what they define "high capacity" as.

Well, it used to be 10, but now they will probably go with 7 - 7 catches a lot more weapons - pretty much leaves only single stack pistols and some rifles with an integrated magazine.

Now, 7 rounds will scoop up a bunch of rimfires unless they exempt them.

But, "more than 1 round" is where they are headed with "high-capacity".

A ban on online sales makes no sense. ALL online sales must be done through a licensed dealer and a background check conducted. It’s functionally no different than a gun purchase at a store.
Its almost like people who've never owned guns have no idea what laws are actually already in place

And never mind the fact an 18 year old can join the Army and be handed an M4 as part of an infantry unit. He’s not responsible enough to own a firearm until he’s 21.

Right..........

I own several firearms. Mostly for hunting. I didn't even know you could order guns online.

But how do you verify who is actually getting the online orders? If I am a 5 time felon and purchase a gun online using my grandmothers info what safeguard is there to stop me?

Hogg's best chance of getting any bill based on a plan like that passed is to have somebody find his way on to the floor of the US Senate with an assault weapon and take out all of the Republican Senators. This clown is just trying to stay, for lack of a better term, relevant.

The fact this poof and his band of idiots is given any serious attention is a testament to the downfall of our society.

A ban for people under 21 also makes little sense. What if you are a single mom aged 19 who wants a firearm for protection, living in a bad area?

Notice how it doesn't say possession under 21 is illegal

I really wish both sides would stop propping up children like they aren't naive and just overall dumb fricks. Some dumb theater kid with a lack of testosterone and a scowl, with absolutely nothing impressive about him at all, shouldn't be a name I know. The Right does this too unfortunately, but in general it just needs to stop.

Because you have to have it shipped to a local FFL holder - in your state who will do the NICS check and ATF 4473, typically at a nominal fee.

They ship to a local FFL where they run the background check then hand you your online order.

If you buy a gun online it has to be shipped to a licensed dealer who then runs a background check on the person that ordered it for them to be able to take the gun home. It's pretty much the exact same as buying from a local gun store, just the money for the gun goes to another store. The local gun store will charge transfer fees on top of it as well.

Banning online sales is completely idiotic and does absolutely nothing to the conversation besides trying to scare people that online sales are somehow more dangerous.

Here's how it works. If you buy from a dealer, that dealer has to ship it to another dealer. They need a copy of the FFL (Federal firearms license.)
So when I bought my FS200 from Hkspecialist, I had a dealer down here send their FFL to Hkspecialist. Once he got it he ships the gun to my dealer over here and they call me over to do the Form 4473 and background check when it arrived.

You cant buy a firearm and have it shipped to your door. That ended in 1968.

It is like these folks do not even know a Constitution exists...

The only thing to get around the constitution is to get like-minded judges is place. The Supreme's can now be confirmed by simple majority. After the dems get the Senate back major legislation will be approved via simple majority (filibuster gone). They are already talking about expanding and packing the court and doing away with the electoral college. What makes you think a little thing like the Second Amendment will stop them?
