Even if the 6-3 USSC rules in Trump's favor?

I reject the idea that because the defendant could prevail, it justifies the prosecution playing games with the timeline of the case in an attempt to harm the defendant outside of the courtroom.

The DOJ sat on this for 3 years in order to time it with the election. And, now that it looks like there won't be time prior to the election, they want to play games with the timeline again.

But your assumption is this is intended to "harm the defendant outside of the courtroom". Of course you'd reject a reality where that's proven to be false

So you'd rather delay this and have Trump prosecuted (and potentially jailed) while President?

That's correct.

I'm not rejecting a reality. I'm rejecting the idea that pushing the timeline forward through extreme measures in order to ensure the defendant is completely occupied during the election cycle is justified.

Your argument is...yeah, but he might win.

Using the court system to impact the presidential election is not only out of line, it's illegal.

At this point, as late as it is, I'd certainly prefer to wait until after the election.

Smith is a special counsel, right? I don't see how the Trump DOJ could do that. He'd also risk impeachment and possible removal by the Senate
Comey said "no reasonable prosecutor would ..." and then Smith did it >90 times. That's a start as to how the Trump DOJ could do it.

Neither side wants a lower court to rule on this sometime late next year and not have the opportunity to get this in front of the SCOTUS before November.

Trump would go ballistic if the ruling went against him and the SCOTUS slow plays it right up to November.

Or maybe Trump is a cheesy, grifting con-man that consistently broke the law and you’re a really gullible rube.

I think the most likely scenario is the presidents crack head son was selling access to his father and the Obama administration.

And that Joe Biden is the one that truly needs to be impeached and removed for the border alone.
