Salaries and pensions will kill most of the public ones eventually. The price of college for how accessible it is nowadays is ridiculous. The university I went to almost shut down years ago because of dwindling enrollment.

Can some of those teachers, if they are good, go teach the youts so they can actually READ by the time they get to college?

They should start by eliminating Schools of Gender Studies and Community Organizers. Then get rid of all the other woke, useless, Schools within the systems.

The birth rate dropped in 2008. So the number of students available to go to college is smaller. And a smaller percentage of the smaller number are going to college. Pretty easy math.
