Rather than do like doctors and only let elite students into school, law schools let failing college students get in and then take the bar multiple times to pass. The result is a bunch of mediocre professionals scrambling for a buck while doctors make millions. Close all but lsu and Tulane law schools and only let 3.5 to 4.0 students in and the industry can purge itself of the used car salesmen.

Sounds JUST like southern university law school and all of those law school diploma factory lawyers that are floating around like turds and stinking up the state.

My daughter-in-law graduated from there and has been a very honorable remember of the local Bar and her community.

She works for honest wages and does her best to make sure that JUSTICE is served. YET, you belittle her
and call everyone that has graduated from Southern Law Center that they have been part of sort of ........ (I'm not even really sure, but it was not good).

I'd love to know if you are an active attorney as I would would like to know your experience with lawyers that graduated from Southern and passed the SAME Bar Exam that you probably "conditioned"......

Of course, IF you are aware of some type of miss-doing, then YOU have a DUTY to report it. If you do not, then maybe all of your posts will be reviewd and you will be subjected to .........

The defense bar will also take a massive hit. Plaintiff's lawyers butter their bread...

Most are too stupid & myopic to see the hand writing on the wall.

If you support tort reform, that's fine I can understand that, but I will never understand the "Muh Billboards and TV ads are driving up at insurance cost!"

You all get mad you have to look at Gordon's mug every day, but every single day you see multiple Geico, State Farm, et al commercials on TV and don't say a thing. Here's some numbers for you.

Geico 29 million
Progressive 20 milion
State Farm 15 million

That's how much those companies have spent on TV advertising IN THE LAST 7 DAYS.

If your ultimate goal is lower insurance prices, wouldn't you equally be stressing that insurance companies get off TV. Don't you think your out of pocket prices would go down if insurance companies weren't spending a billion dollars a year on TV advertising alone?

The consumers are the losers. Insurance companies and lawyers are the winners.

Im not an ambulance chaser by any means (personal injury is about 15% of my practice) but sometimes insurance companies simply attempt to take advantage of people until a lawyer is involved. I truly feel like I've helped people on the few car accidents I've handled.

I get it though, nobody likes the billboard lawyers including myself and other small practice attorneys.

Apparently you don’t know how insurance works.

Say a 22 year old consumer is at fault and injures your client. His insurance company defends him and is liable. The settlement or judgment could be well into six figures is circumstances warrant.

The 22 year old may have paid his insurance company for coverage only a year or two. There’s no way he’s paid the insurance company six figures., but we all know the insurance company got enough money from you, me and the guy behind the tree to make it good.

Now I believe anyone severely injured should be compensated, but I don’t think we need to pay the lawyers as much as we do.

Lol I know how insurance works. My point is, I haven’t had any accidents or tickets in several years. As such, I have a reasonable insurance rate that has never gone up. That girl who caused an accident will probably have hers go up. We all have to buy insurance but not everyone suffers from that accident/Injury/lawsuit.

And I know the common talking point is “frivolous Lawsuits” but that is so overblown. The McDonald’s hot coffee case is the perfect example of indoctrinating people about a supposed problem without being honest about it. They used that case to push for tort reform without being honest about what really happened in the case.

What isn’t right is that widows, people with lower credit, homeowners, people who have lower coverage policies must pay much higher premiums that have nothing to do with their driving record or payment history.

People don’t like lawyers until they need one. When they need one it’s always a million dollar case and different than “them other ones” because X Y and Z.

Baws like to put up a hard front, but they’ll trip over their dick calling a lawyer if someone injured them or family.

It is my understanding that ANY lawyer that learns about violations to the ethical canons is required to report it to the disciplinary counsel.

If they do not, then they are just as guilty.

I think most people find sympathy there, however, it’s the “I get hit, I’ve won the lottery” mentality that is repulsive.

You’ve glamorized them more than they deserve calling them bird guano. I rarely wish harm on anyone, but I’d like to see Spencer, Gordon, Morris, Carmouche, Peyton, Bart and every other one of those lowlifes be thrown in the middle of the biggest levee bonfire ever built. The world would be a better place if all those crooks died yesterday.

My point is that the consumers pay for everything; the billboards, the ads, and the fancy offices.

We pay too much.
