I'm not sure Jesus ever even existed. I'm not really conserned about religion as it isn't important. We were nothing before we were born and probably nothing after we die.

The Romans and Jews knew Jesus existed. They were there

Multiple Historians of the time, knew he existed ....They too were there.

It's too bad that some people never are curious.

Man if it makes you feel better, to each his own I guess.

I never know whether to feel sorry for or to be happy for people that believe in fairy tales. On one hand, every minute you spend thinking about this stuff is a minute of life wasted; on the other hand if it brings you joy/peace/whatever that’s a good thing so who am I to rain on the parade?

I don’t need any visions or non biblical revelations to tell me hell is real. There are too many fake revelations and fake prophets today.

Educate us then. Who were those multiple historians of the time?

Oh the religious dogma game. I want to play too.

If you don't meet _insert religion here_'s requirements then you will experience an eternity of suffering. _insert religion here_'s god loves you but if you don't choose correctly you will experience an eternity of suffering! My religion's savior sacrificed himself and is the cure for an ailment that you were magically born into and cannot overcome without meeting _insert religion here_'s specific requirements. If you want proof then read _insert religion here_'s sacred text!

So you are saying that because multiple groups falsely claim to have the truth, that the truth does not exist? Well damn!

What if they're all just different interpretations of the truth?

What they're saying is that there is no evidence to differentiate your false claims from any other.

Guess you didn't read the part where I said I wasn't saying Jesus wasn't real?

I believe he was, I just don't really believe he had super powers

Well some don't quite work out that way as there would be a lot of liars out there who would not make good "Saviors" so to say...just take Jesus saying he is the way, the truth, and the life then furthermore that nobody comes to the Father except through him...pretty clear there, you are either all in or all out with Jesus. The same could be said for other religions as well I am sure. Doesn't mean that someone in the mix isn't telling the truth. The Bible also addresses this when it says "Study to show thyself approved" and "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"...the knowledge of truth doesn't just happen without some application of effort to learn it generally speaking.

Yes and what I am saying is that is myopic and simplistic in that the truth isn't eliminated just because others speak falsehoods and make false claims of having the truth.

Correct, so then that begs the question how does one figure out who is in possession of truth? It isn't addressed adequately by some cutesy fill in the blank mantra. One actually has to seek the truth with the understanding that it is out there and simply because others lie and claim to have it, it doesn't negate the fact that someone might very well be speaking truth.

I'm a Bible believing, Jesus died on the cross for my sins, belief in him is the only salvation Southern Baptist.

And I downvoted you.

How many people died in the Bible went to either heaven and back or hell and back?
