We've been wasting a lot of taxpayer money for a very long time.

So now contracts will go mainly to the big boys entirely like RTX, Northrop, Boeing, etc.

The "big boys" are doing the work anyway on these pass-through BS contracts. Hopefully the contracts will go to competent people regardless of what color their skin is or what's between their legs.

I've heard stories of these type of companies in Huntsville taking advantage of it through the years. Some of these companies are run by men yet their wives own the business. wink wink.
There is even one company owned by the Alaskan Eskimos.

This one touches us all.
I don't have endless daycare facades near me.
I don't have endless transportation facades in this city.
I don't have endless adult care facades infecting this area.
I have known several individuals who have had shell companies, as black, Indian women (even when they are not), get government BA contracts, only to have others do the work.
Nice work Secretary Hegseth.... does this mean you aren't stepping down... LoL

I doubt this saves any money. Just rigs the bid in favor of the bigger contractors. Hegseth isn't looking out for the "little guy" in this instance.

It sounds like you're OK with the current practices? Different strokes, I guess.

I don't care why he's doing it and I don't care who does it or gets credit. It's just social engineering/welfare by a different name and getting rid of it is a smarter use of tax dollars.

Military-Industrial complex is a self-licking lollipop, basically high paid welfare. It produces numerous jobs for post-retirement senior military officers and high ranking civil servants & does the same for the local job market where industrial facilities are located. Producing hardware & software that assist the military in its operational mission is often a secondary outcome. You often see this in the Congressional budgetary process...keeping dysfunctional programs funded, directing the procurement of equipment not requested by the Services because it maintains jobs in a district, allocating 10--12% of the DoD budget to non-defense activities.

Huntsville is the definition of Military-Industrial Complex high paid welfare. Its mega organizations, MDA, SMDC, PEOs (PAEs), produce very few viable products to warfighters and when they do, the products are normally over budget, behind schedule, and doesn't meet performance requirements. Failure is the norm and yet we continue to pour billions of dollars into these failed acquisition and procurement organizations each year. Need to seriously reform these organizations and the entire SETA infrastructure supporting it.
