I personally prefer them trying to take away our gun rights this way vs passing unconstitutional laws.
This way they not only fail, but it will expose all of their other measures as wrong.

I didn’t realize how much of a shithole Hawaii is until watching Dog the Bounty Hunter. While that’s not the most objective of evidence, I was surprised to see how much of the place looked like a third-world country.

I have been to every part of Hawaii. Mother in law has a condo out there so used it as a jumping off point to explore. Outside of the tourist areas it’s poor as frick. If it wasn’t for tourism and the military there would be no economy

to clarify that the right to bear arms is a collective, rather than individual, constitutional right
In Heller, SCOTUS correctly ruled that the right to bear arms under the 2nd Amendment is an individual right, rather than a collective right. These five Hawai’i legislators think SCOTUS was wrong and want to amend the Second to negate Heller and to “clarify” that the right to bear arms under an (amended) Second Amendment would be contingent upon membership in a militia.
This would be a bad idea, but the sky ain’t falling. If such an amended Amended were to be ratified (which will not happen), it would simply return “gun control” to the individual States, which is where it resided before ratification of the 14th Amendment anyway ... in a sense, it is an “Originalist” proposal.
