Starting with COVID’s inception, we have focused on giving our kids the most “normal” childhood possible. We avoided lockdowns, masked only when necessary, and lived our lives to the fullest, vacationing both summers.

With so much risk on the horizon that previously would have seemed only possible in conspiracy theory alternative realities, I think it’s time to mentally prepare them for stuff I pray doesn’t come to fruition.

What’s everyone’s thoughts? Ignorance is bliss, or prepare just in case?

My oldest is five. I don’t think he’s at an appropriate age to be burdened with having to consider real world consequences beyond what happens when he pushes boundaries with his mother or breaks little rules here and there.

I feel it’s my job as his father to buffer as much as I can for as long as I can.

I have talked to my kids on COVID from the beginning. We all thought it was legit dangerous. As data came out realized it wasn't. Explained to them (cause they were terrified of school) that NO ONE under 18 was dying from COVID and that they have faced the flu, which is far more dangerous for their ages.

The reaction was "then why is COVID being pushed so hard". Exactly! Welcome to Libs America!

12 and 14yr olds certainly can. We also have serious nerf wars in the house that, while the kids don’t know it, simulate a home invasion - my kids know the exact way to defend the house (without really knowing they do.)

My kids are 4, 2 and the next one is due any day. The 4 and 2 year old still have never worn a mask. I won’t even let them pretend to wear masks like they see others doing. As they grow up, I’ll teach them about economics, taxes and gvt how our country was founded on. I’ll do everything in my power to make sure they don’t become little Marxist pieces of shite. If they do, no inheritance for them. If they want Marxism, they can learn the hard way and have all they want of it on their own.

Pussy.

Educate them before schools do. My kid already knows Biden is trash. Based on polices alone. Teach your kids with real world examples. Explain.

My two are 19 and are aggravated to shite with the mask bullshite, wearing them in class and know how full of shite our government is. My father in law is constantly staying in their ear about how much our country has fallen to shite because of the woke culture and swamp creatures. No chance of them becoming liberals.

We talk to our kids about things from a Christian worldview. They don’t need to fear.
