It is to keep the masses complacent. To keep people from challenging the status quo. To keep our minds from unlocking truths.

Think about the American revolution. Most of the forefathers smoked cannabis and/or had distilled cannabis tonics in their daily lives. They learned at universities who were actually oriented towards making sure that their students were learning. Not universities teaching towards tests and dumbing down lectures and following rigid education models.

They were men who understood the world. Not career politicians.

They sat around with their brains fueled by cannabis and discussed and pondered on the meanings of government and the ties between men. I seriously doubt you would be able to hear such grand debates on a college campus much less in our disgusting Congressional halls today.

That is how they were able to sit around and create a new system of government that changed the world. Thoughts and ideas that had never been tested before. A beautiful and unparalleled system that spawned and maintained the greatest country in earth.

Look at when the war on drugs began and the department of education was founded. The 1970s. There was a massive cultural movement towards love and peace and fighting the growing power of the government and as a response the government instituted a terrible and still continued today war on drugs to end that line of thinking and stop people from gathering and discussing and trying to implement the next wave of social revolution. And they took over schools and education to set the curriculum and brainwash the people.

And now these very ideals in our constitution are under attack by a growing force of brainwashed and brain dead "academics" who don't understand history or the reasons for the rights and balances our government has. A group of people indoctrinated through a government run system since birth and being used as pawns by some of the most greedy and power hungry forces in our country.

The department of education was founded in 1979. Milenials are the first generation we are getting to see who were raised completely and totally under the war on drugs and with the department of education.

I’m as strongly against the war on drugs as anyone you’ll find, but I’m not sure I’m willing to buy the “fueled by cannabis” pitch

In my opinion, the war on drugs is much more simple: money and authoritarian power.

I disagree on why MJ is illegal. Rather than reasons regarding cognitive function I believe it is illegal due to all of the medical and industrial uses marijuana has to offer.Take the DuPont company for example. They make many synthetic chemicals that would become obsolete. The timber industry would also be hit hard. These are just two of many examples I can name. Its all about the money.

I fully agree with this as well it can be the how and not the why. Those reasons were just the means used to get the power needed to make it illegal.

Big Cotton.

Once upon a time, hemp was a legit option for rugged fabric and ropes. Cotton was directly competing.

The cotton industry funded some of the more hysterical anti-MJ stuff, with the explicit intent to claim the market... and they did.

If everyone were required to have 5 mega shroom trips in their lives the world would be a better place

The hemp plant and its uses from clothing to lumber to rope to plastics to oils to drugs is God's gift to mankind. Its current legal and educational status in the United States is an insult to human history and a travesty to mankind.

I think today’s way of teaching........read, memorize, test, rinse, repeat is counterproductive and does not develop critical thinking skills and deductive reasoning.

I also think the war on drugs in a big government control mechanism.

I also think you are high.

I can say unequivocally that hemp rope is fricking terrible. Not really seeing the truth is this one.

I think Marijuana is illegal (where it hasn't been decriminalized) so blacks arrested on crmies have something to plead to as opposed to a greater crime.

Law Enforcement likes it, because even without the perp having a lawyear, that is still an unmanageable number of cases to try for real.

I'm quite sure I'll be mocked for this, but think about it. Ask yourself what the demographic makeup is of states that perennially slapped people on the wrist for possession, and have gone on to de facto legalize it.

Makes sense. All the people I know who hit the hippie lettuce at an early age are retired now.

Well, if terminally unemployed counts as “retired”, that is.

That might require more extreme methods.
