Has anyone made a thread on KEY-ev vs KEEV?

Stout did last night if I remember correctly. It’s definitely weird.

I would like to know how and why we changed München to Munich.
The English way is even harder to spell.

I heard pedo Joe pronounce it KEEV. I will pronounce it KEY EV, so I don’t sound like a pedophile.

and a languages professor told me the actual correct Ukrainian pronunciation is "KEE-if", rushing through the word as fast as you can

I'm an American, I pronounce it "Kee-evv". Any bitch corrects me I just correct them back

I also remember it always referred to as The Ukraine. When did it drop “The”

That's not really true. There is more nuance to their pronunciation then just "KEEV" - but it sure is some quality virtue signaling.
