I just heard someone on TV say it's not clear if she plagiarized and that she likely just "misrepresented her citations" instead.
Harvard officially went with that narrative as long as they could...basically they said that (paraphrased) the degree of plagiarism she engaged in was acceptable at the time she engaged in it, but now it's a lot easier to check, so that degree of plagiarism is no longer tolerated.
Obviously how hard or easy it is to catch someone has nothing to do with whether it's ethically acceptable behavior, but they knew most people wouldn't pay attention well enough to catch it.
What changed that was the student who pointed out that if any student had done it they would have been expelled. That and the never-ending crop of new allegations.

The writer also went into detail how most faculty members not only defended what the president did but applauded her blatant plagiarism, academic fraud, and dishonesty. It also mentioned how the president committed her plagiarism repeatedly over many years in many writings, a pattern that would have resulted in the harshest penalty from the honor council: expulsion.
So this means that Gay will be the first of many justified resignations? Or should the students be held to standards that their hypocritical and corrupt faculty teachers are not.

He looks to be pegged on a regular basis.

To prove the utter academic bankruptcy of its institution, Harvard will retain her as a professor.

Ackman wrote 'Et tu Sally?' on X following the news.
The comment appears to be alluding to the president of MIT, Sally Kornblut, the only one of the three to not have yet stepped down.

Stefanik is 2 for 3, with all eyes on Sally Kombluth now.
I'm warming up to Elise a little bit.

Kombluth's problem is Ackman and like-minded power-players. For academics, this will eventually prove to be a BudLight moment, IMO.

Well, yes and no.
It's more like getting Al Capone for tax evasion. Plagiarism was the charge she could be convicted on.

But the anti-white stuff will still be encouraged.

“Depends on the context” amirite?

The fact that it took her this long shows why kissing people’s asses because they’re “oppressed” has consequences. The extreme arrogance of this woman not realizing how lucky she was that there were likely dozens of applicants more qualified that applied for the job.
I read she published what, 11 papers? Dude, I knew TA’s who had more than that while they were working on their doctorate.
