What is not transparent by pollsters is weighing methodology. You can have 5 different pollsters with the same polling data and produce 5 different polling results because they used 5 different weighting methodologies.

Some pollsters are really trying to forecast election day results.

Many more pollsters are providing a service to a client that wants a particular outcome. It's how they make money.
