It's common knowledge in the bike world. HD is a name brand and made in America, but they aren't the most reliable bikes.

Don't act like you know about bikes just because you hate President Trump.

They were practically belly up in the late 70s early 80s. Looks like they're heading back that way.

It's not the gov's responsibility to ensure you have sustainable, marketable and profitable manufacturing. These dicks are on a scale larger than any other MFG other than Honda or some other large brand. I bet the smaller guys in the US are liking HD taking this one.

Secondly, I promise that HD's Merican made with Merican Jerbs has plastic knobs and accessories outsourced to places other than the US. Just a hunch.

Then you should try paying attention. People have bitched about Harley reliability for years.

Crotch rockets that leak oil on the garage floor... Sounds confidence-inspiring.

Trumps economics are soooo Bernie Sanders like. But the magatards have never read Sowell, Mises, Hayek, or even Economics in One Lesson so they are economically as stupid as the Bernie bros.

I'm not a biker so I guess I don't have a dog in this hunt, but why are your labelling the entire biker community w/ such a derogatory term?

Send Harley an email message. This is what I did. Just go to their site, hit contact and there are 3 options to contact them. Let them know how you feel about it.

I don’t remember Bernie bitching about unfair tarifs placed on American goods and not reciprocated.

Just say you don't know shite about motorcycles. This isn't new news regarding HD reliability.

This CEO is a dumbass.

Who wants to ride a motorcycle with all the morons on cell phones?

I know half dozen people who have quit riding for that reason. Motorcycles are a dying product.

not a bike guy, but have head this for about 10 years from bike riders that aren't avid Harley lovers. There are many many other good manufacturers out there. Harley is what it is because it was Americana, nostalgia, not because of recent quality. If it moves overseas, it may not sell a fifth of the bikes it onve did.

85% of all Harley's ever made are still on the road.

The other 15% actually made it back home.

From a reliability standpoint, Harley is among the worst out there.

In March, Harley-Davidson — which was saved by tariffs on imported motorcycles back in 1983 — slammed Trump’s tariffs.

I bought my first big bore bike during that tariff, a Suzuki GS 1100 ES. I have purchased similar bikes to a Honda CBR900RR for the same reason: performance and handling. Add the reliability and I see no reason to change; except maybe to Ducati or Aprilla. I have nothing against Harley and their riders, different strokes for different folks. I do have something against Harley management pulling this gutless and deceitful bull shite. They had planned this move prior to tariffs with recognition of declining sales in USA and rising trends in EU.

I’ve literally never sat astride a motorcycle in my life, my friends are the furthest thing from bikers you can imagine, and even I know that HD makes horribly unreliable bikes
