Austin cancelled SXSW on March 6.
That first week of 3/2020 was when the dominos started to fall.

In no fan of either, but at the time Mardi Gras came, no one anywhere was talking about this. No mention of social distancing and no mention of shelter in place or any of this other stuff.
Just like it’s stupid for the mayor to blame Trump for not cancelling Mardi Gras, it’s stupid to blame the mayor and governor for not cancelling it.
