Ben Sasse Retweeted Sean Hannity
Sorry, Sean -- you changed, not me. Some of us still believe in the Constitution. No President should play with censoring news they dislike.

Hannity is a TV personality. His views are meaningless.

Sasse is a senator who supports the establishment and the collection of my data.

This isn't hard to see who's the actual hypocrite.

I just don’t understand the Sasse argument.

Yes, NBC/CNN have a right to free speech and freedom of the press.

BUT, they do NOT, however, have a right to a press pass.

They can say whatever the hell they want, but if they continue to publish untruths or half truths as truths, there SHOULD be consequences.

He usually throws out a litany of buzzwords to excite his fans.

1. We don't know that anything NBC has said recently in their reporting on Trump has been proven false. If you're just going to take Trump's word for it then you're putting a ridiculous amount of trust in a politician.

2. We have a marketplace that can exact consequences. CNN faced a consequence in falsely reporting on Scaramucci ties to the Russians before Scaramucci became famous by getting humiliated in the press. NBC has had to face a similar consequence over the Weinstein mess.

You don't need to give the state power to determine what is "real news" because that power is completely at the whim of people with their own agendas. And remember, at some point there will be another Democratic President. Do you really want another Obama able to determine what is "real news"?

Hannity gets pissed because a) Sasse is more conservative than he is and he knows it and b) Sasse isn't presently beholden to our celebrity President.

Sasse has been a little too grandstanding for me lately, but I'm still fully prepared to back him against a fraud like Hannity.

The problem is when people like SEAN HANNITY are held up as arbiters of truths and half truths.

Most of the time, people have no idea whether or not what they are hearing is truth or falsehood or opinion. They have to just largely trust the media.

I think that if it can be proven that a news organization is continually and purposefully misleading the public (not through “Trump’s word”, but definitive proof) there should be suspensions and penalties. Doctors lose their medical licenses if they purposefully or otherwise harm patients. Why not news organizations for intentionally misleading the public - which CNN does EVERY DAY?

Currently, CNN could publish a story about Trump peeing on Russian strippers with zero evidence and get away with a wrist slap.

Has Sasse adopted any Ethiopian children yet or is he saving that for 2023; in advance of his 2024 candidacy for POTUS?

BTW I'm formally predicting that Sasse will adopt a minority child before he runs for POTUS

I saw an interview yesterday with some lady whose identity is not known to me. When describing the Hannity interview with Trump she said "Hannity draws Trump such a warm bath"

Describes that trumpsucker to perfection. Also draws up a terrible mental image.
