Had Dinner Tonight With Three Young Female Biden Voters

All late 20s, female, teachers, already voted for Biden.

Dinner tonight with my fiancée, two of my sisters, the three aforementioned Biden voters, and a husband of one of the Biden voters.

Here’s the highlights:

Husband, a commercial realtor, of Biden voter is a Trump guy. He said prepare yourselves, Trump is losing. Said the hate he sees and hears is like nothing he has ever witnessed. Said he hates it but what are you going to do? Said he thinks he’s done with everything political after this one. He’s just had enough.

Wife of husband voted for Biden. I asked what she likes about Biden, she couldn’t really tell me anything. Said she just wants things to return to normal, for the constant negativity from the media to stop. Said if Biden gets in then the anger and madness will stop from people, so fine, give it to them. Just make it stop.

Two other Biden voters said they feel strongly about climate change, want government healthcare, are passionate against racism, and believe Trump mishandled chinavirus. They went on and on about Trump disbanding a pandemic emergency task force.

None of the three knew anything about Hunter Biden’s laptop and emails. They had never heard of it and seemed shocked. None of the three had heard of Steve Scully’s firing or that he was the second debate moderator. When I told them, they said “how do we not know this?” They said they are on social media everyday, get news updates pushed to phone, and read and watch news everyday.

I said you need to watch Fox News. They laughed and said everyone knows Fox News is a sham, a joke that just pushes Trump and Republicans. I asked them what they think is good, objective news. They said well, everyone knows msnbc is for the Democrats, like Fox News is for the republicans, but that cnn and the major networks abc,nbc,cbs, and pbs and npr are all good, unbiased news sources. Also the NYT and WaPo are good.

I asked them if they knew Robert Byrd was a former Klansman. They didn’t know who he was and asked if he endorsed Trump. I said he was a former senator and Biden’s mentor. They replied with blank stares and frozen faces.

One said well Biden isn’t good really but at least he’s not Trump.

And all three admitted that’s it’s really safe to return to the classroom now, they just don’t want to. They like working from home, not having to get up as early, not have to fix up, just remain comfortable, and the teaching itself is faster and easier. They are pushing for virtual until 2021 and said they hope chinavirus cases spike so school systems will be pressured to keep virtual.

Back home now, drinking John Fitzgerald Larceny wheat bourbon and watching Stripes.
