With Trumps backing too. Things just got real .

Herschel is in a unique position to peel off Democratic votes and invigorate the GOP base as well.

Former President Donald Trump's backing of football great Herschel Walker to run for the Georgia Senate seat has been enough to effectively freeze the GOP field in place -- even though some Republicans privately worry the political neophyte might fizzle against Sen. Raphael Warnock in a high-stakes general election.

quote:

Warnock, who is running for a full six-year term next year after narrowly winning his seat in a special election in January, is a top target for Republicans. And with the backing of Trump and his closest allies, who believe that Walker is uniquely able to unite a party torn apart by their 2020 losses, prospective Republican candidates are signaling they are willing to sit out until the legendary athlete makes a decision.

You could vote for Satan next election and it would be an improvement.

I beg to differ. Trump pisses them off more.

Good. Actual Unity is coming. Not the type that Biden talks about, which is unconditional surrender. A unity of conservatives, libertarians, moderates, and actual liberals. We have to destroy the Leftists. A toast, not to unity, but freedom that the Leftists wish to steal from all of us.

We've discussed this before. Everyone agrees that Walker is a good man. The problem is that he's been diagnosed with a mental illness and it would be a huge liability in a campaign.

It's a hard pass.

Hershel needs to shite or get off the pot. He's freezing the field of possible contenders and needs to make a decision as soon as possible.

Statewide campaigns, especially in a state as big as Georgia is a two year commitment.

With that said, I like him and I think he would be a fine candidate but he needs to campaign for a good while before we can gauge his potency as a candidate, his fundraising skills and how he runs his team.

Dude, half this country smokes pot at this pot to one degree or another. Mississippi voted in medical marijuana more than for Trump and only lost recreational marijuana by 1.5%, which means next election it will almost certainly be completely legalized.

A lot of people on this board are in denial of that reality being that Georgia right now is where Virginia was a decade ago.

It's for that reason why Trump is being very short sighted in his desire to primary Brian Kemp.

I don't see Warnock being terribly difficult to beat assuming the morons in Georgia actually turn out this time.

I truly don't think it matters.

Nor does 2024 matter

The Dems will have the Governor race in 2022 because there isn't a chance in hell Kemp is winning.

Mail in voting is going to seal it for Dems in every purple state.

Atlanta is so fricking blue it's firmly solid at this point.

Until something is done to actually secure the election it really doesn’t matter.

Warnock is horrible. Herschel would be a complete 180.

My God, a freshman!

As Sentrius stated this board is in complete denial on Georgia.

Georgia and Arizona are blue states now.

Iowa and Ohio are red states now.

Florida is trending redder

But it would take a miracle for a national GOP candidate to win any rust belt states (PA, WI and MI) with mail in voting.

fricking facts
