When I was a kid, I was mystified if I ran into a teacher at the grocery store. Mind was blown.

Nobody asks Mr. Fairee the real question: Why is it so important that you talk to 8 year-olds about your love life?

Helen Keller knows this dude is gay.

Remember when South Park had the incredibly gay Mr Garrison teaching kindergarten kids sex Ed?

That was apparently a look into the future.

Me either. The most we knew about any teacher’s personal lives were if they had a family photo on their desk or if they had kids who were students at the same school. But it still wasn’t a topic of classroom discussion

I don't either and I never wanted to know. Your personal life should be kept personal and not brought up in your professional life - unless you're talking to friends. Clients, bosses, anyone else has no need to know anything about your personal life.

I wonder how much of this is from teachers being taught to use "my friend(s)" when talking to younger children and it warping these already mentally ill teachers minds even more.

had one or two in junior high who taught science or history, but that was it. It would be considered weird if a man was teaching any grade below 5th when I was growing up. Especially a gay man. And this was like 20 years ago.

I've notice you've already be downvoted by an anonymous pedo. Like DeSantis, you should wear it as a badge of honor.

Here’s a novel idea. How about you teach the kids the subject they are there for.

Why the hell is it so important to share you’re gay? How can a gay person scream fir acceptance but always want special attention to them being gay?

I had gay teachers in both grade and high school. We wondered about it, but never had it confirmed. Straight or gay leave your personal life at the door. This is not social media. Nobody wants to know, or cares what you do on the weekend, or with whom.

yeah. same here. at the very least it's unprofessional. at the most it's grooming. IMO it's both, whether that is the way the teacher intends it to be or not.
