So you guys are ok with her being locked up unfairly, for strictly political reasons?

Dude, we are effectively at war with Russia. Those "political reasons" are a result of a decision we made that presumably are in our best interest (I don't think so, but that's a different issue).

The inability to ask Russia to be lenient and release someone like Griner who obviously isn't a spy or a smuggler, is because of our geopolitical decisions regarding Russia. In other words, even if you 100% agree with this administration on this, you should accept the corresponding fallout from those decisions.

You’re an idiot. This has nothing to do with that, and I don’t believe in that mess. I’m not a liberal. I just don’t think countries should use a harmless law, like smoking weed, for strictly political reasons. That’s the only reason why they arrested her, was because of this tension between the West and Russia. Guarantee you this wasn’t her first time bringing weed to Russia.

I get that she’s a spoiled bitch, and doesn’t know real oppression, until now, but it doesn’t mean an American citizen deserves to go through this, especially over something like weed.

You are a purely emotional thinker.

Why did she carry a photo of her “wife“ into the courtroom? Does she think that’s gonna give her any sympathy points? She should be ashamed of being in the situation, and flashing her spouses photo should be seen as an embarrassment. Not endearing. What the hell is wrong with people?

Also, I keep hearing that she tried to sneak in cannabis oil, but it is also been described as hashish oil. I get it’s from the same plant, but can’t cannabis oil be used medicinally and different from hashish? I have no clue about this stuff or trust what’s being reported.

It's bullshite like that, that led to Sweden allowing refugees a free pass to rape swedish women. Because in the home countries of those refugees, apparently it was allowed to rape women, so Sweden felt it barbaric to really punish refugees for cultural differences.

They aren’t. It’s against the law. She isn’t the only one. You think it’s harmless. Many countries don’t agree with you

I’ll agree with you, as long as you admit to being an emotional thinker as well. You’re only ok with this, because of the things she’s said. You guys just seem so happy about all of this is what gets me. Most of y’all are Christians too, and that’s not very Christian like to be “rooting” for this.

This part made me laugh
quote:

"The persistence with which the U.S. administration ... describes those who were handed prison sentences for serious criminal articles and those who are awaiting the end of investigation and court verdicts as 'wrongfully detained' reflects Washington's refusal to have a sober view of the outside world,'' Ryabkov said.

The more and more this administration continues to repeat the statements about Griner, and all other American prisoners, the more difficult it will be to get our people back. Yet, they keep shitting on them.

Griner makes a top 1% salary in the USA for having no skills other than being tall. She has an easy, luxurious lifestyle and lives in a country where society caters to her every whim because of her skin color and sexual preference. That piece of shite has the nerve to talk about how oppressed she in in this country while trashing most people who have it worse than her. She's never faced a day of oppression in her pampered arse life. She is about to experience firsthand what real oppression looks like in comparison with the straight up lies she tells about the country I love and proudly served.

She can fricking rot over there for all I care.

I am always happy when someone is stupid and flaunts the law and is punished accordingly... What makes this even more entertaining is the fact that she cannot help her own stupidity and her "savior" that she voted for is so inept that he cannot help her...

Maybe Barack can fly over there and negotiate getting her a shorter sentence...

question for you:

Should visitors to the United States be held to our laws?
or
Should they be held to laws considered acceptable in their home country?

Brandon is so fricked. He has two Americans imprisoned in Russia but only one Russian prisoner to swap. He'll no doubt trade for the black tranny but he'll have to deal with the blowback from Marc Fogel's family because he has been held much longer.

I'm not deflecting from anything. You have the rhetorical skills of a retarded goldfish, and can only communicate your emotions on a topic.

You present zero challenge and I have grown tired of your lack of entertainment value.

Ours, but considering ours are some of the most lenient laws in the world, I think most foreign visitors are going to hope that they would be held to our laws.

You’re purely emotional as well. Do you think Otto was treated fairly in North Korea? The answer should be no for Otto because it is no, but for Griner you’ll say yes. What’s the difference in the two? They both committed harmless crimes.

i agree.

but that unfortunately means we have to expect other countries to do the same with our citizens within their borders.

sure we can ask for leniency (like Clinton did for that dude who got caned in Singapore in 90s), but they don't have to grant it.

I just think this is a purely political decision by Russia to do this. Same thing when NK, Iran, China, or other Middle Eastern countries do it. Today proves it, when Putin says he’ll exchange her for a terrorist, then you know that this is strictly political.

We’re not gonna make the same deal, out of arresting a foreigner here, for smoking pot. I’ve also witnessed it first hand.

On another note, this is becoming a significant problem. We don't punish criminals, especially violent ones, nearly harshly enough.
