absolutly, hope that it works.

However prematurely announcing a cure is not helpfull to our idiot populace, see spring break for example.

We will get this sorted out pretty soon as we are the GD USofA but we need to buy ourselves a bit of time so we dont turn out like Europe or the lying arse Chicoms.

A clinic in AL that I’m very familiar with now has enough to treat 70 people.

When did the patients start the treatments? Is the clinic using the combination of the two drugs on all the patients? How many patients are being treated with the drugs?

And the box is open. Do we admit we overreacted, or do this every year?

That reminds me of something I found interesting regarding the guy that had convinced people it’s some miracle cure with 100% effectiveness, in an OT discussion about it. Here is what I found and posted:
There could well be more to Chloroquine treatment. It could have a mitigating effect. I'm just not in the "it's a 100% cure" camp.

Absolutely!
It will restore confidence in the economy if we find it's even partially effective.

Isn't there really no such thing as a "cure"?

That's what I was always told about viruses.

I'm guessing that this treatment would be similar to Tamiflu for the flu?

So not as good as a vaccine but still major good news.

It also seems that the z pak would help to stave off pneumonia, which I'm assuming is the real killer in many cases.

Were they not already prescribing antibiotics?

That was the case in the past. But with advent of antivirals (e.g., Remdesivir) and manufactured antibodies (Regeneron work), it's no longer the case. Cure is possible.

Remdesivir, rather than Azithromycin & Chloroquine, would be the analogy to Tamiflu.

Azithromycin has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. And Covid-19 is primarily a viral pneumonia.

Maybe heretofore clinicians didn’t put 2 and 2 together with respect to symptom improvement in the smaller subset of patients who did develop secondary opportunistic bacterial pneumonia’s AND also received azithromycin as part of treatment. Who knows.

The death rate in the treatment group in the study is actually higher than the death rate for total cases.

There is a potential for death in any drug taken by anybody for any reason. This is why one of the first questions a doctor asks you is are you allergic to anything. We don't know the reason for death(s) on this treatment, nor should we all say "HOLD UP" because of that. At this point, what do we have to lose? If this thing isn't 100% effective but has shown through cases that it speeds up the healing process, why not go with it?
