I'm disappointed that he caved.

Don't know what else he "should be doing" right now though. People here are doing a pretty good job of taking it seriously and hygiene and social distancing without having to be told to do so by the government.

Even in my little town it's been pretty much dead for a week.

Governor was mugging down with strangers in a restaurant on Twitter (not social distancing) with his two unvaccinated children in photo.

Frankly I think it's all been a cluster. I blame Congress and the CDC. This is what happens when unqualified politically connected federal employees run stuff.

I live in Georgia and conclude that Governor Kemp has done a good job in making measured decisions based on the data that was available at the time. The Atlanta airport is the busiest in the world so it was inevitable that Georgia would have a lot of cases.

Hold that thought. In a week or two it'll be clear that he may have done the worst job of anyone other than FL dude. Georgia is teeming with cases, but they haven't tested enough to show it yet.

Washington State's curve looks like S. Korea's curve. Everyone else's curve looks closer to Lomabardi. They've clearly had the most success in floating the curve. Stepping back. We should probably be managing this nationally. I mean, Florida keeping those beaches open impacts, not just Florida, you know?

Slow to enact guidelines and Republican LT Governor wrote scathing letter on response by Governor.

We only have about 1000 cases and fewer than 30 deaths two weeks after she shut down the epicenter counties in Alabama. I totally disagree with the decision to implement anything at all for this but I don't see how someone who wanted action from the government could complain about her actions.

ETA: Holy cow, Will Ainsworth's letter is embarrassing. There's no way Alabama will hit 250,000 cases. He should be ashamed for buying into that hysterical nonsense.

It is fricking absurd to continue to suggest that effective measures to contain this epidemic are nothing but a gross abuse of civil liberties. Hell, I guess I could argue that a highway speed limit less than 100mph is an abuse of my civil liberties. If there weren’t so many dumbsses wandering our streets, there would be no need for government edicts regrading thisvirus.

Is it okay to argue that they are both? They certainly seem to be effective where I live, especially compared to Missouri next door whose governor has pretty much left everything up to each individual county. Right now this seems necessary but there is a great potential for it to turn into a necessary evil and later on into just plain evil because of the precedent that has been set. I don't think right this moment is the time to debate this but that time is going to come up when this ends.

Yep. I see you believe China's numbers. Just like you believe when they said there is no such thing as human to human transfer. You likely also believe anything the WHO says.

Cuomo totally screwed the pooch and did the mayor of NYC.

Both circumvented the china travel ban which would've slowed down the spread of the virus.

So, I don't care what people say. After that colossal blunder, Cuomo has done a decent job when he is not whining too much.

However, once you make a colossal error in the beginning, it can be impossible to come back from. And sorry, but that is the case. Some mistakes are too big to come back from.

Your approval list is stupid. Sounds like you just tossed up the tool bags that you personally like instead of actually performance.

What? Both are probably the bottom 2 and will have the highest deaths and highest per capita deaths.

Cuomo especially.
