Lawmakers “want to look at ways that they can take more control of the court system in the city of New Orleans,” Landry said Wednesday during a press conference at the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness in Baton Rouge.
It is unclear whether key leaders in the Legislature would be on board with returning to the Capitol ahead of the regularly-scheduled session next spring. Senate President Cameron Henry, R-Metairie, did not immediately return an inquiry, and state Rep. Phillip DeVillier, R-Eunice, who serves as house speaker, declined to comment.

Landry focusing on petty fights with NOLA means he's not doing other dumb things in the state. Added bonus is the jackasses in NOL A are squirming.

A year ago I hated him but The Kiffening bought him a lot of goodwill. He's fully capable of losing it, we'll see how long it lasts.

What actions are you hoping the Sate legislature will take to further exert control over the courts will accomplish this?

I'll discuss how the State used decades-old, broad Constitutional language to override the outcome of a legitimate local election every day, but I am pretty sure most people are tired of seeing me stick to my principles,.

Pass laws like they have in Florida that allow the removal of rogue judges who won’t do their jobs. Require parishes the size of Orleans to have a full time DA. No moonlighting. That’s just off the top of my head.
